Who's made or bought the perfect shooting stool for use at the bench?

I like the adjustable height cause I shoot at different height benches and the padded seat is nice for long range sessions. $65 at Amazon

Why isn't the 222 Rem Dead?

I’m not convinced a 223 could group consistently in the 1’s The homemade rifle that shot the target in my previous post is a Savage target action, Shilen barrel, Stockade Guns stock.

Why isn't the 222 Rem Dead?

Why isn’t the 222 Rem dead? I wanted to build a rifle that would put all its shots in the same hole at 100 yds. The groups are 5 shots.

    Dillon RL 550 press

I loaded way more than 50k of 38 spl, 9 mm and 45 ACP on a 550, started with the old style Dillion dies around 1986. I got the new Dillion dies when they came out with the easy to clean - pull a clevis and the inserts for the seater and crimp dies comes right out to clean without losing...

S&W M6906 and M3913 Recoil Spring Replacement Interval?

If they were my guns with 5k rounds I would replace the springs. Like Bama59 said Wolff has good springs, I’ve gone through a lot of them. I tune my guns to eject brass 4-6ft. Farther than that, depending on the gun, you might have the slide coming back harder than optimal. Less than that...

1917 British contract .455 Eley Colt Government Model pistol

The 455 case is shorter than the 45 ACP and the 455 headspaces on the rim while the 45 ACP headspaces on the case mouth. It may be possible to fit a 45 ACP barrel but the collector value of that gun would seem to preclude that.

Very nice pistol. You don’t see a lot of those.

    Mark IV .22 shooting question?

I shot a Ruger 22/45 MK III in a lot of bullseye matches. 500 rounds of CCI Standard velocity then bronze brush with Shooters Choice , in and out at least 10 times , solvent, patches, to finish. A side note since I have gun problem; that Ruger is a MK III retroed back to a MK II , no Mag...

    Do some guns shoot "flatter"?

Gee whiz there’s a lot ways a gun can shoot flat... We gotta start the discussion with some specifics But my gun is still the flattest. . .

Help me get this loathsome lanolin film off 2,500 cases by using my wet tumbler.

I just learned about homemade lanolin lube. The internet is loaded with how to remove it from cases, it’s been an issue for years. What is it progressive press loading advantage ? Here’s guys talkin about removing lanolin. https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/182446-removing-lanolin-lube/...

How do you figure you O.A.L starting point?

I mostly shoot single shot bolt guns so I’m not limited by a magazine. I seat the bullet with fairly tight neck tension (~ .003”) and long enough in the case so I’m sure it will hit the lands. I remove the ejector when finding jam and touch lengths . Chamber the dummy cartridge, withdraw and...

    Do some guns shoot "flatter"?

Walt, your description is how I picture the flight of the bullet. I don’t think the tight fitting of the barrel is a factor but the alignment of the barrel in battery relative to the sight . It’s a desirable situation for bullseye but it just happened and I wouldn’t know how to repeat it in...

    Do some guns shoot "flatter"?

I fitted a Kart barrel to a 1911 wad gun, it fitted up tight and shot very well. It “shoots flat”, the gun shoots the same setting on the Ultradot sight at 25 yds and 50 yds. I’ve been to a lot of bullseye matches and it’s most common to come up 2-4 clicks from 25 to 50 yds on red dots for 45...
