Savage target action, 22-250 Shilen 1/8”, Mcree chassis. It loves 80 g Berger VLDS at 3150. A true 1/4 minute gun.

Why isn’t the 222 Rem dead? I wanted to build a rifle that would put all its shots in the same hole at 100 yds. The groups are 5 shots.

I loaded way more than 50k of 38 spl, 9 mm and 45 ACP on a 550, started with the old style Dillion dies around 1986. I got the new Dillion dies when they came out with the easy to clean - pull a clevis and the inserts for the seater and crimp dies comes right out to clean without losing...

If they were my guns with 5k rounds I would replace the springs. Like Bama59 said Wolff has good springs, I’ve gone through a lot of them. I tune my guns to eject brass 4-6ft. Farther than that, depending on the gun, you might have the slide coming back harder than optimal. Less than that...

The 455 case is shorter than the 45 ACP and the 455 headspaces on the rim while the 45 ACP headspaces on the case mouth. It may be possible to fit a 45 ACP barrel but the collector value of that gun would seem to preclude that.

I shot a Ruger 22/45 MK III in a lot of bullseye matches. 500 rounds of CCI Standard velocity then bronze brush with Shooters Choice , in and out at least 10 times , solvent, patches, to finish. A side note since I have gun problem; that Ruger is a MK III retroed back to a MK II , no Mag...
