Here is my woods gun, Glock 10mm with 6" lone wolf ss barrel, not a stout as some mentioned, but double tap in 200gr. hard cast x 16 works for me. 22lb spring with 600 lumen light and tritium sights.

The deer I have taken in western NC are pretty gamey. Even young deer. My wife will put them in the crock pot with a lipton onion soup mix. I have it processed as all roast. Good as beef in opinion. My freezers full of venison. :)

Not a turkey hunter, but from what I have been hearing from the guys at work is the turkeys have stopped making much noise in WNC. The theory is the coyote population is thick and noisy turkeys are dead ones. I don't know, just what I have been hearing.

.338 Lapua Magnum, very stable out to 1500 meters and beyond in capable hands. Lighter than the .50 cal.
