If you're talking about the 'locking lugs', they appear to me to ALL be one piece. I recently shot my .357 bbl. and cleaned the heck out of it with Gunzilla and it sure opens nicely now. Next, my .223 bbl. which was hard to open.
I have a G1 with 4 bbls. 45/70 Super 14, 30-30 10", .357 10" and a .223 10" bull. Issue is...the 45/70 and 30-30 are real easy to open but the .357 and .223 are quite hard to break open. What could be the problem?
I am looking for parts for this piece if anyone knows a good source. Numerich has some but I need more. Need also an exploded view to really see just what else I need. Tried Jack First also, no luck.
It's been a long time since I shot mine, I can't remember what the heck I was loading it with. What charge do you all like for patched round ball and minnies? Perhaps some note taking would help!
Does anyone load .45/120 for the Quigley Sharps? Have you tried Pyrodex? My brother loads for his and using 110 grs. black powder is often getting tumbling, possibly from fouling? He does run a patch every 3/4 shots but still getting a tumble every so often.
So when did Federal start using small pistol primers? My brother was loading the other day on his Dillon 650 and had some jams and noticed these. Must be something new, we pick up spent brass while out shooting and must have picked up some.
Sorry, it's been a while since I last shot my muzzle loaders, quite a while. On my .50 cal southern mountain, using a .490 ball, would I use a .10 patch? Like wise on my .54 Hawken, a .530 ball, a .10 patch? Thx.
OK, so our new p.o.s. 'assault' weapon law says you have to register them as an 'assault weapon' unless you make them 'featureless'. Is there any legal means of making a AK-47 'featureless'? Thx.
looking for a new CC for the wife but it must be a SA. She can't handle my Ruger LC9 due to the double action being too stiff for her. So far only seeing the Sig P380. Who knows of any others out there?
