All my Patersons are reproductions. Original Patersons can go way up into the six figure atmosphere and anyone who owns one and fires it must be leaking
franklins. What is in a cased set varies on who put the set together and which model Paterson. This one of mine.
Nice looking gun. I think the price is right on from what the picture on GB shows. Of course I might be a little prejudiced since I own 11 of them with no two being exactly the same. Most are cased sets. This gun is not for the BP shooter but more for the collector. They are somewhat...
I got in at the $229.99 price with free shipping  but since Cabelas broke ground about 5 miles from here for their first store in Georgia I did get tagged for sale taxes. :cuss: Still a great buy on a great looking gun. Thanks for the heads up Malachi.
I just ran across this thread so pardon me for coming in late. I have a Paterson with the Cotl barrel marking in script and turned end for end from the real McCoy. There is a Dragoon on GB with the Cotl markings also.
Are you sure they are 10-24 and not 12-24? I bought a Replica Arms Baby dragoon a couple of years back that was missing one nipple. I took a 12-24 tap and it screwed into all the nipple holes with my fingers, no tool. I then checked one of the other nipples into the empty hole and it was a...
Here is one you won't find at Cabelas. The person I got it from called it a Lemat reproduction probably handmade in the 50's or 60's. It is a heavy brute with a crappy action and if the barrel was ever rifled you can't tell. It could be a muzzle loader. I have never found anything like it...
I am a long long way from being an expert on old (or new) revolvers but in the last picture of the initial post the Colts Patent stamping appears quite fresh for an old gun. When you stamp metal you move material out of the way creating tiny ridges around the stamping. The L in Colt and the...
Auctions
I see now that one of them at least, is charging sales taxes on top of buyers premium. They are charging out of state buyers as well as the locals. With the 17% buyers fee that tacks another 24% on what you bid. Not to mention some of these auction houses charge a boat load for...
There is just something about that gun I don't like. Hmmm. AhHa I know what it is............................... I DON'T OWN IT! :cuss::cuss:
Real Nice Tinpan
Why is it then that we keep re-electing these bozos?:banghead: They feel confident they can do as they please and get away with it. So far they have been right.:neener:
