    Lyman Ideal

When did Lyman go from steel to zinc for the Ideal tool? Just bought a 310 and was surprised how light it was.

A BP revolver for Hunting Whitetail?

Dang Jackrabbit. Sounds like you need a scoped Whitworth to hunt in AZ.

A BP revolver for Hunting Whitetail?

Makes me wonder about the chamber capacity of the ROA in comparison to the Walker. The Walker replicas have superior metallurgy over the originals and are unlikely to blow-up like the original. A longer 12-16" barrel on either with no forearm (b/c of chain fire hazards) would help (longer...

How many revolver speed loaders do you have?

I carried two speedloaders when I carried a revolver. When I transitioned to a pistol. I carried two spare magazines and during the King Riots, I tucked another two into my pocket. Afterward a bigger mag pouch that carried four magazines (Sig P220) and this gave me only five fewer rounds than...

    Source of Fakes

About three years ago we had a representative from the new Goex (I guess it's Estes) talk to us at the NMLRA Banquet. She promised that they will meet the demands of the users for holy black. She said they also approached the NSSA (the Civil War community) too.

Classic Revolver shooting style ( 1 or 2 hands)?

I was taught two handed but sometimes we also shot one handed (draw from the holster and shoot at short distance)

If you could only have ONE and I mean ONE 4 inch double action revolver.. what would it be?

Stainless Ruger GP100. Worst trigger pull of the big three (S&W and Colt) but Ruger is the most durable revolver and less prone to failure.

    AR 15 Question

Most important thing to me is reliability. If it is, don't mess with success. I'm curious about the neck issue. Can the stock be modified for user comfort? Would a collaspable stock help?

Are there Washington State legal muzzleloaders that will consistently group under 6" at 200 yards?

The target rifles used by Berdan's Sharp Shooters, Andrew's Sharpshooters and other target rifle equipped soldiers could do that. They fired conical bullets and that solider had to cast in the field.

    Flintlock in action

I wish I had the high speed camera footage of a flintlock. It was filmed by Colonial Williamsburg.

Which is more general: "Handgun" or "Pistol"?

Handgun covers the broad range of hand held fyre-arms: revolvers, semis, semi-automatic revolvers and single shots. Semi-automatic is slightly over a century old. The Germans referred to the Luger as P-08 and the Walther as P-38. It all depends on where you're at. So, handgun and pistol...

    No safe place

Quoted for truth. When one uncle heard someone breaking in, he racked his 1911 slide and the burglar responded by jumping through a window down one level below. Hopefully it hurt. I moved from the big city to the country where I'm somewhat isolated. However, there is a new threat that I had...

    China's battle rifles

I watch ChinaObservor for LOL. Like us, their college grads are the equivalent of high school diplomas in the '50s-'60s. One company required a master's to be a guard! Why a master? To screen out all the college grads with lower degrees. Saw one clip of warehouse workers grabbing pallet...
