    I need your vote!

Nice design and thought process using existing features/parts already in Ruger's inventory. I voted for you, my second choice is the Scout Rifle concept. Good luck.

    New to rifles

Hi Marcus, wny hunter here also. 270 is plenty of gun for the deer around here and the ammunition is fine. I have found that even though areas have opened up for rifle (and I use one) the distances are still fairly short due to trees and brush. I believe shot placement is key no matter...

ever buy a gun after reading an article on it?

SP101 4.2" barrel, read about it in American Rifleman and had to own one. There have been others but that was the quickest decision based on reading one article. (Then again it doesn't take much to convince me I need to buy another)

Ever want to sell everything and start fresh

"Still searching for the perfect gun". It's that a big part of what makes firearms so interesting. For me the learning and research of what new or tried and true is a major reason for collecting and shooting. My collection is by no means special, valuable or unique but it's mine and a source...

UPS driver's advice on shipping firearms

Reading these posts and the linked article reminded me of when I needed to ship an almost brand new rifle back to the manufacturer for some warranty work. I sent it FedEx signature required and all went fine. As timing would have it we where on vacation the week the rifle was returned. On the...

    Well Shucks

Did that taking apart an M1 carbine bolt, tiny part shot out and I spent a frustrating hour searching and finally cleaning the shop floor only to find it on the bench about 1" from the vice holding the bolt...
