I waited a week to try it.

    Pickled Deer Heart

I followed the Rinella recipe but didn't say how long to poach. Interesting idea about the simmering. My water wasn't a rolling boil but definitely more than a simmer for about 3-5 minutes.

    Pickled Deer Heart

Question for any of those who've perfected the art, how long do you poach the heart before putting it in the brine? I poached mine in beef broth but I think i did it for too long. It wasn't chewy but it did seem a little hard/overcooked. There was still some pink in the middle but I think it...

    Do magazine fed bolt-actions

Thanks. Did not mean to include .25-06.

    Do magazine fed bolt-actions

of the same action length share magazines (assuming the same model rifle)? Example: Would a magazine for a Savage Axis chambered in 7mm-08 work for a .243, .25-06, .308, etc.? Not making a purchase decision based on this, just curious.

Hatfield semi auto 12 gauge at wally world?

Pretty sure these are the same as the Kahn shotguns talked about above. They have all the same features and look exactly the same. I plan to pick up the .410 and the .20 (already have an NEF 12 Ga.). A $250 auto sounds nice but would like to learn more about them. I've also heard about people...

Hatfield semi auto 12 gauge at wally world?

I saw one of the single shots at my local walmart for $99. They had 12, 20 and .410 models. If these are indeed Khans I will be picking up a .410. Hope someone has more info on these.

    Affordable bolt action in 7.62x39??

Harder to mount a scope really low because of the rear sight. Probably more expensive. Don't care for the safety. Wood is cool, but I want something I don't mind thrashing a bit and I have other wood guns.

    Affordable bolt action in 7.62x39??

Why would I want it? Lots of cheap ammo that I already possess. Enough to last quite a while without replenishing. Not to mention the brass I have saved up. Also, the places I'll be hunting do not have long shots available. And if they did I'd bring something else. I figured the CZ guys...

    Affordable bolt action in 7.62x39??

You're right scotty. After posting I realized you can find the .223 Mini's in the $300-400 range. I just hope they come out before hunting season and at a price I can justify.

    Affordable bolt action in 7.62x39??

Does this exist? I am really interested in the new Howa Mini Action that is supposed to be out sometime soon in this caliber, but I'm guessing that is going to cost at least $500. I know, that isn't that much, but why can't some of these manufactures that have budget lines (Ruger, Mossberg...

Not sure if this is kosher to post, but here's the auction if anyone is interested: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=550916955

Ifit, I've had no trouble with my barrel. I need to check to see if my carrier is tabbed. I've found some pictures I think I can compare it to. I think you're missing the point about the value of this piece. If you can no longer get them anywhere for $400-500 then paying $600 isn't...

No thoughts? Based on my research I think I'm going to list it as an auction starting at $600. If anyone is interested shoot me a PM, I'm sure we could work something out. PS does Century even make these anymore?
