    Carcano Identification

RC and JB thanks for the info! Anyone know what the crown marking is? If it is produced when I think it was, 38 to 40, then to me it is unlikely Italy would have put a crown marking on it. And JB I agree. It feels so light and natural sighting in with it.

    Carcano Identification

I am trying to identify a rifle. It has a Mannlicher action. It is carbine length with the cleaning rod underneath the barrel. Top of the chamber has Terni stamped on the top. On the left side of the stock is a crown marking in a rectangle and the letter A with 40 below it. "AK" is stamped...

    AR-15 issue Bolt won't unlock

SDC- That got it unlocked and open. The round in the chamber was in good shape with no defects. The primer had not been dented. I appears there was a large carbon build up that was causing the problem. Thanks for the help!

    AR-15 issue Bolt won't unlock

I took my DPMS AR-15 out to the range yesterday. It shot pretty good for the first 30 rounds or so. I then started getting double feeds. After clearing these I did some basic maintenance and lubing. I shot a few more rounds then had a failure to fire. While attempting to do remedial...

    S&W MP .40 Problem

I have not witnessed this problem. A friend at work was telling about an issue he was having with his MP .40 over the weekend. He stated he would fire the weapon and approximately every 3 or 4 rounds the magazine would fall out. He stated he tried several different mags, tried to pull them...

    Identify this Revolver

Thanks for the help. He and I both agreed this thing should go to the armorer first. The extractor rod assmbley has completely came off the weapon. And it looks like the timing is off. He just wanted to know if it was worth fixing. Sounds like it needs to become a boat anchor.

    Identify this Revolver

A friend of mine inherited a revolver from his grandfather. It is a 38S&W Double action. It does have Ruger wood grips on it, but they appear to be too small for it. Markings on the right side are: Made in Germany (on barrell just above the ejector rod Markings on the left side are...

    Ruger Mini-14 Sights

I currently have a 580 series Mini-14. I love the rifle...except for the sights. Does anyone know of a better set of open sights that can be installed on it? I would like to find something that works along the same line as the A2 sights.

    1/7 or 1/9 twist?

I am about to order a rifle kit for an AR. I already have the stripped lower. I am looking at the 16 inch barrel for it. It will be .223. I am a little confused on which twist to get. I could use some advice on which one would be the best choice for my weapon. Thanks

Another one of the Greatest Generation gone

Sorry for you loss. It sounds like he led a full and good life. Making things grow for a living is one of the hardest yet admirable jobs around. May your memories of him always be the good ones.
