Ok, when people are saying to size cases by chamber, that is by using a full length die and backing it off just until the bolt will close? is this right? I'm just a little confused by this..wouldnt using a neck size only die after theyre fired do the same thing? Sorry..i'm just new to all this...

Hello, I have a friend that just bought an Armalite Ar-30 in 338 Lapua Magnum. He was told by the dealers to load them with 88 grains of IMR 4831. We are unsure if this is too much..we looked on the Hodgdon site and it listed the max for this powder at 85.0 grains.
