    Reaping potential from a PSL-54C

I've had good luck with a 150 grain bullet and a medium weight charge of H4895, but loads in that range tend to work well for most cartridges in this class.

    Auto vs Bolt Suppression

Action noise is significant. I have a .22 AR upper that puts out very little muzzle noise with a suppressor, but I still get a loud noise from the action cycling. When I stick that same can on my bolt action .22 it's quieter than an air gun.

Use of the Sling in the Offhand Position

As a guy shooting in the same vintage rifle matches as you I feel qualified to answer:D I find that using a "hasty" sling like they teach in Appleseed does help somewhat in offhand shooting. It doesn't really provide any extra support, but it helps dampen the natural wobble I have when...

    NFA Picture Thread

It works quite well. The CMMG upper has a lot of action noise, and with subsonics that's about all you hear. With subs on a bolt action it's quieter than a pellet gun. Here's a video with supersonics. With subs you don't get the "pop"...

    NFA Picture Thread

I posted this gun earlier in the thread (and with the can in a separate thread) but now that I have a suppressor here it is again. 6.5" CMMG .22 upper, with a suppressor I made myself on a Form 1.

    Form 1 suppressor

1.125 OD x 6" long. I didn't want to go with a tiny little can because I thought it would look funny with this gun. Even though it's a little bigger than a typical rimfire can it still works well with pistols. I tried it on a friend's Sig Mosquito and it didn't block the sights at all. It...

    Weight training for accuracy

I don't specifically do it to help my shooting, but in the last 5 years I stopped being a couch potato and got into shape. I've noticed it helps quite a bit, especially with action shooting. Not being winded after sprinting through a stage makes a big difference.

    Form 1 suppressor

The blast baffle and muzzle threads are 303 stainless. Everything else is 6061 aluminum.

    Form 1 suppressor

Just thought I'd drop this off...pics of the rimfire suppressor I built on a Form 1. It's very quiet on my 6.5" CMMG, with subsonics you pretty much just hear the action cycling. This was my first attempt at building a can and I'm very happy with the results. I have another Form 1 approved...

    SilencerCo Osprey 9MM?

I have shot a friend's .45 Osprey (shooting .40 through it) and it was Hollywood quiet. Literally sounded like a pellet gun. We were shooting it wet, though.

    Best WWII bolt action rifle

For a bolt action in a battle environment the Lee-Enfield No. 4 wins hands down. Acceptable battle accuracy, the fastest cycling action, most capacity (10 rounds), and good sights. It may not be the best sporter or precision rifle, but when the Huns are coming over the wall those extra rounds...

    Barrel thread concentricity and alignment

I'm just learning the mysteries of lathe operation, and I just threaded my first .22 barrel. This is a little different than checking concentricity on a barrel that's already threaded, but what I did was turn a piece of brass bar stock down to be a tight slip fit in the bore. Then I chucked...

1873 Barrel Relining Project with Pictures!

Very nice. I'm about to embark on a restoration of a Stevens Favorite and I'm considering relining the original barrel. I like your PVC collar idea for holding the barrel.
