What other hobbies occupy your loading bench?

I have a dedicated mancave building with 30' bench. On it and under it and in closers around the perimeter are fishing gear, hunting clothes, guns, ammo, artwork, homemade deer antler displays, primitive muzzleloader gear, archery equipment, bullet casting gear, antique tools, leathersmiths...

The rifle belongs to a historian who is a member of our club. There are club members that are not shooters, but history buffs. This guy is both. He has written a few books that were published. I have one that is about the Corps of Discovery. He knows details about Ferguson and the rifle. He...

Question about flying with a handgun

I agree with the above posts. My wife thinks we get treated to extra courtesy because we have declared our firearms. Read your airlines policy and rules. Follow them. Print them off. Be confident....don't act weird. They'll treat you right and walk you through. No worries. Don't chicken...

Today I enjoyed the outdoors. I chose to carry......

I haven't posted here in my favorite thread for a while, so I'll get caught up a bit. Mrs Farmer and I, along with our good friends(my old quail hunting/ crappie fishing buddy), traveled by pickup to Gruene, TX where we heard lots of great live country music at Gruene hall and Luchenbach. ...

    Ruger 380 ACP pistols

I have been very content with my original lcp. I use an extended mag in it. It has been 100% for me. I dont think it ever misfired. I know a groundhog that could testify to the accuracy of an lcp.

    What is your favorite rifle?

I have a new candidate for favorite rifle: Years ago, I turned down an opportunity to buy a very old, very worn 94 Winchester SRC marked on the reciever NEW MEXICO STATE PENETENTIARY. I regretted not buying that rifle still to this day. About a year ago this 1980 Winchester SRC showed itself...

I think k I have settled on the perfect prize for this group of shooters. It is a classic prize for our sport.....MEAT! I bought four pkgs of thick cut bacon. Then added a pkg of ground venison and apkg of venison cubed steak, all commercially processed and packaged by our excellent hometown...

According to legend the British capt. Ferguson was the best marksman in the the Kings service. It was written that he supposedly had a group of mounted Revolutionary Officers in his sights. Being a British officer and gentlemen, he considered shooting the men in the back to be unsportsmanlike...

New type shotgun ammo for turkeys

I know that #9 tungsten shot is extremely effective in a .410. I also know that the long slender shot column of a .410 tends to shoot tight patterns even at long distance.

Well done @Shanghai McCoy. Ferguson is correct of course. I didn't know how widely known the design was. I read a book about Ferguson when I was a boy....it seems like it was Louis L'Amour? I'm not sure.
