Thank you all for your suggestions. I powdercoated some of my cast 255gr Lees and loaded some testers with 6 and 6.5 grains of AA#2, since it's what I have the most of. We'll see how this works - thank you again to everyone.

Yeah, that's why I like #2 - my standard cast 9mm load uses 4 grains, meaning I'll run out of lead before I run out of powder. :) I didn't see Unique last time I was at CAL - I'll look at Scheels next time I am up there.

I THINK I might have a partial bottle of Unique somewhere, and CFE Pistol might be hiding at the back of the powder magazine, I almost forgot about them, thank you for the mental kick in the pants there,

Just curious what 850 FPS or less Cowboy loads people here like. I'll be starting with a Lee 255 gr FP, and have a mold for a 200gr SWC as well, with AA#2 and Ramshot ZIp, for starters. Thank you for your replies

So here we go, Uberti 1858 New Model Army with Howell 45 Colt conversion cylinder. Once I get it broken in I just might carry it once, just to say I did.

Pmags are my biggest bunch, and I have some Hexmags and MFT that seems to work OK, but they are usually just for range use. D&H works great. ProMag, (love that acronym, completely accurate), have been absolute trash for years, and I have No idea how they stay in business.

I would carry a 686+ 3 inch pre lock if I could afford one. Hard to beat a good wheelgun.

While looking at land in East Texas I was told I can shoot on private land out in the hills as long as every round stays on my property. Makes sense.
