Redding Titanium Dies and Dillon 550

I had this problem with some 9mm. I did not have my sizing die down far enough. Something caught my eye about titanium cuaght my eye. Is this the decapping die only, or is it the decapping and sizing die. I ask, because titanium only has about half of the elastic modulus as steel...

Making your house harder to break into.

Yep. This is one reason I won't put my family in a newer home. I have only seen this once, but

    Powder spilling while reloading .223

What powder? I try to keep to ball type powders even in my Dillon. I have heard, but never experienced some stick powders getting hung up on the case rim and causing an overflow. I have had good luck with H335 and AA2230 thus far.

Strange (Threatening?) Message left on our answering machine.

Nothing has happened since the first call. We have caller ID now, we have filed a police report, and we are very aware of our surroundings. Still working on additional security measures. Again, hoping it was a prank or wrong number, but fully preparing for everything that could go wrong...

Strange (Threatening?) Message left on our answering machine.

Okay, ARperson called the police and filed a report. We are both familiar with and know how to our defensive tools. (Though formal training is needed for both of us, something like Defensive Edge or Thunder Ranch) Working through the offer process on the house. As soon as we are the...

Strange (Threatening?) Message left on our answering machine.

Hey, ARperson's hubby posting here. Yesterday we got home from running some errands and checked our answering machine. The second of three messages was a woman (I think), obviously trying to mask her voice, that said "Hi, I am going to get your child". It was very hard to understand and we...

    Eating Crow

Another G26 fan Out of several guns that I bought for "carry". The one that goes everywhere and does everything, (and is the most comfortable for me) it is the Glock 26. I feel like I can wear it no matter what. Mine has paint spatter on it, is often soaked in sweat and other grime, and it...

If Ruger Had Brains They Would Compete With SW and Taurus in the J frame Size

As far as Ruger goes, I think they are sticking to the their largest revolver market. Cowboy Action Shooting revolvers. Why compete in a market with others who have already established market dominance when your main source of income is something else. The have the SP101, it is smaller...

Real deal AK or Saiga and XD9?

Having owned a WASR and then lucking SA-7M. I would never plunk money down on a WASR again. I really think once the cool factor wears off the real looking AK you'll find yourself shooting the Saiga much more. My WASR doesn't fit me well, doesn't fit itself well, needed a new top cover just...

To shoot or not to shoot - Carcano

first thing I would do is completely dis-assembly the rifle and check for rust pitting. If there is a lot of deep pitting on the barrel or reciever I would not fire it for safety sake. If the metal looks good, and there is not much pitting inside or out, check out the rest of it's mechanical...

Anyone else watching the GOP debate

Couldn't agree more. I am a member on a completely different non-gun-related BB and except for the self-stated conservatives, the vast majority of the posters think the government's sole job is to bail people out of the crises they created for themselves. Sickening, really.

    Campus Shooting in NH

What example? The only connection to a college was that the victim and perp were college students.

Indiana CPl: returned for more info?

Ugh. 2 more months! Yes. Please keep us posted. I want to hear how this turns out.

Indiana CPl: returned for more info?

Yeah, I know. It's still tacit qualification. But under the "shall issue" banner, it's assumed that anyone applying already fits those criteria, and it's up to the powers that be to find out that they are not. At least that's how I understand/take the whole mess to work out. No biggie. I...
