Dom,
Have you measured the distance to the lands with that 90 SMK ? A lot of barrels were produced with longer than spec freebore ( Thanks to Constructor for figuring that out) . On my barrel (a long freebore version) that 90 SMK has about 60 thou of jump loaded at 2.260 . I have not used this...
I shot some Factory Hornady American Gunner with the BTHP and my reloads with the Eld's last Sunday and the shift was minimal. I don't think I even bothered to make the adjustments. At longer ranges the B.C difference might make the POI spread larger. If your making the switch permanent then you...
yeah, It feels more like a premium Nosler or Norma case (never had Lapua). Also remember that being a small primer pocket the Starline has more base material.

I got some of the Starline 6.5 Creedmoor Small Rifle primer brass and did some measurements today vs Hornady.
ave weight :
Star 163.66
Horn 147.39
using 10 samples each
Visually they look very nice,

I hope everybody gets there's but they had a great deal on a crony a few weeks back and they oversold it twice and sent out a lot a cancellations, mine included.
Just a heads up. Good Luck.
I had that happen to me too ! The place where I shoot has a very fine red clay dirt that sticks like crazy. I found if I do a 20 minute pre tumble with just brass and Dawn, then a hour with AA W&W and pins , that issue went away and the total time didn't increase.
Another thumbs up for Armor All W&W. Also a final rinse with filtered water helps alot.
My Home Depot carries AA W&W and Lemishine for under 4 bucks each. Target also carries it but is quite a bit more unless on sale.
For small batches I use Hornady Unique. One tub will last a long time.
For Larger batches I use Iso/Lanolin mix. If you live near a Fry's Electronics or similar they sell 99.9% "Technical" grade Iso Alcohol in the computer component section.
I had this happen to me too when I used that tumbler. I had to cut the rubber off, clean everything then I carefully taped the rubber back on. It created a little wobble but it still worked fine. I eventually bought a Franklin Arsenal Tumbler but still have the HF as a back up.
I think the general concensus is H4350 ,RL17, and IMR 4451 in that order, are the go to powders for 140 class bullets with the Creedmoor.
Varget is used in the 120 and lower gr bullets though. Varget should work with 140's but is probably not optimal.
I use H4350 and RL 17 with 140's in my...
My Ruger American Ranch 300 BO does not like Military or even thick Magnum primers. So I usually just stick with cci 400's . I have a 300BO in a AR and used cci 41's and they were very iffy in the Ruger. Now I just use 400's in both to avoid confusion.
Load up a small amount and check.
