For 525 plus tax I bought a new G17 gen 4 w/ 3 mags.

My 640 frame stretched enough to bring the cylinder gap out-of-spec. I shot it lots, with plenty of magnums. S&W repaired it, no sweat. I now shoot mostly standard and +p ammo, and carry +p.

I have had a J-frame for a few years, and THEN I stumbled across a k-frame snub. Then I had to have one that was pinned and recessed. Then I had to have a 3" P&R round butt.:cool: Now the 3" is at S&W for an action job, & reset cyl. gap:)

Mine was my first handgun. I didn't know it was supposed to be difficult, i just kept shooting 'till I felt I had become reasonably proficient.:)

2nd click is really quiet on my 65, but present. At faster speeds, the cylinder rotates and locks in place faster, and the click is louder. my 66 clicks a little louder, but neither is as loud or predictable as my 640. The 66 and 65 are older, P&R guns.

Well, I just found a used blued Ruger Redhawk at a pawn shop for $350.00 OTD. Seems to be broken in nicely :)
