Golden Sabre serious lack of quality control Updated!

Or, some yahoo pulled one out of each box to compare the two and put 'em back in the wrong box. Happened more than once when I worked in gunstores. Still, I'd contact Remington, just to be safe, and alert them to a problem.

    The Glock 41 in 45acp

I got one yesterday. Slide is thinner than G21, I believe it's same width as a G34-35, or was it the G36? It's the same frame as Gen4 G21SF, but weighs less due to the thinner slide and barrel. Four backstraps, two with beavertails for those needs 'em. Feels great in my hand just like it is, but...

So I'm making a dessicant pack... on ROIDS. :-)

I have a dessicant pack that is small ceramic bb sized beads. It's for my hearing aids. Some are blue colored and begin to fade to the tan color of the majority of the beads. When the blue ones are almost faded to a very light blue, I put them in a pyrex dish in the oven at 350 degrees for 30...

So I'm making a dessicant pack... on ROIDS. :-)

Ball mason jar, (used for canning). Ice pick, punch multiple holes in lid. When it's time to re-activate, pour into pyrex pan, pop in oven a while, then pour back in mason jar, screw down lid, back in safe. (missed the part where you store them in cases. Works well in a safe though... :)

Anyone fall "out of love" with 1911's?

No. I have not. I've been a dedicated firearms nut/owner for a very long time, more than 40 years. (I'm 60 now) I fell in love with 1911's when my dad let me hold and look at the Remington Rand version of 1911 he carried in WWII. I have never not loved the design, and have owned more than a...

Gun Stuff You No Longer See

Back when I was in Jr. Hi School, in Denison, Texas, 1959 to 1965, there was a locally owned store, Barrett's Cut Rate Drugs. It was sort of a mini version of what Wal-Marts would be. Had a nice sporting goods department in the basement of the building with a nice collection of handguns, rifles...

    sights for old eyes

My son has the Ashley Big Dot sight setup on his Glock 19. That front dot really grabs your attention when you bring the gun up to shoot, along with the shallow "V" notch rear. Fast on target at "social encounter" ranges. I'm seriously thinking about having them put on my G30SF. I'm 60, and the...

    Is 6 Shots Really Enough?

I have never been in a gunfight. Hope I never am. I do carry at all times, except sleeping time of course, and then there's something within reach. I'm 6'4" 240, 60 year old that's been carrying since a little dust up back in the '70's regarding two escaped felons, Lancaster, and Dennis...

    New Cabellas Columbus Ohio

I worked part time at Gander Mt in the firearms dept. In the four years I was there, first at the Texarkana, then the Sherman, TX store, it really went downhill. High(ish) prices, not enough employees to cover the needs of customers, etc. The Cabela's in McKinney is great, with great people...
