    Pelican Barrel Key/Lock

My search was finally productive, after locating on Ebay for $4.36 including shipping and waiting for its arrival from China, I am finally secure. Granted the old lock was brass, turned 180 deg. the other way, and new one steel but I'm very satisfied. Now to start cutting some foam.

    Pelican Barrel Key/Lock

I picked up a Pelican 1490 case and want to replace the locks. I've managed to remove one but have no idea where to source. It measures .592 across the lock face and the threaded barrel is .400 long with the flats .410 and the threaded round that mounts in the latch hole is .465. Overall is...

Sometimes Components Aren't What They Appear

mstreddy, I haven't weighed them all as a box of 500 but the handful I threw on the scale were all very close to 230gr. Jack B., I believe the factory's QC may have been off that day. Great deal with discounted flat rate shipping. I was cleaning up the bench after loading some 223's and had...

Sometimes Components Aren't What They Appear

Haven't posted in a while...hoping everyone is well and having a great summer. I don't load or shoot much, but when I do, try to make it count. I bought these from the factory in 2015 and thought I might put some together over some Titegroup. They say hind sight is 20-20. Let me know when...

Reloading 223 on a turret - how do you handle powder?

That's the way I do it for all .223 charges. I have flexibility with the disks to get as close as I need to get the job done.

What do YOU use for case lube?

+1 with much lower round count. Lifetime supply for me with one tin.

    Media separators?

I have a small round wire deep fryer basket that fits in the top of a pool chemical bucket (2gal I think) to pour the tumbler media through. I then lift the basket, hold the tumbler lid over the brass in the basket, hold the basket on its side, turn it like a ferris wheel and shake a few times...

Powder through die for 7.62 x25?

Toolsteel, you've got me curious, as I have the Lee 3-die steel set (Lee #90769) that comes with the powder through expander die. I added a factory crimp die (#90086) to make the 4 dies because it wasn't offered in Lee's 4-die sets. Is that what you have?

ELD Match 75gr in AR mag- no go?

What happens when you remove the polymer tip? Seems I may have read where that permitted loading in mags. I have a box of the same so curious what you end up doing...

It's 1990 and you have $500.00 to burn. What do you buy?

My list is almost identical to yours chicharrones from 1985 to 1994: Marlin 336CS, GP100, and Norinco SKS for just a touch over $600.

    Cleaning dies

+1 for this. Does a good job with minimal hassle.

    Fusion Brand Ammo

Curious if anyone else has fired any Fusion brand ammo? I shot 10 rounds and returned the empty brass to the carton until ready to tumble it with some other. Couldn't help but notice how corroded it was, even after tumbling! Would you suspect the powder or primer they use might cause this...

Happiness is a new bag of Lizard Litter

It's all I use now with a torn up used dryer sheet. Bright'n'shiny brass. I don't remember the last time I used corn cob.

Shell Holders for priming; school me.

DeadEye9, I can only speak for the Lee Hand Prime (1st generation). Its shellholders are different from the shellholders used on the press. I enjoy using it on occasion but my hands don't tolerate it so well, so still use my AutoPrime on the press.

Talk to me about Herco metering

Tell me about it! The top left can is my original and passes the "sniff" test. My shootin' buddy gave me some more a few years ago that was passed on to him. I now have more than I can shoot in my lifetime at the rate I'm going! :)
