I was out shooting my Taurus 1911 today and all the sudden in the middle of a mag, the hammer would not drop. The trigger is not releasing the hammer at all. What could be the problem with this? I'm debating on whether to send it back to taurus, or have a local gunsmith replace the broken...
I just bought some used 45 acp brass from a guy. I just noticed that the flash holes in most of the brass I bought from him are huge compared to the rest of my brass. What would cause this, and is it safe to shoot?

I think you can make much better boolits than you can buy commercially, but commercial bullets are cheap, so you have to decide if it's worth your time. There are hundreds of different mold designs, so you just take your pick.
Just make sure you clean the copper fouling out of your guns...
One thing I noticed that drastically improved leading in my sig's barrel was using a flat based boolit instead of a beveled base one. I have the same molds that you're using and I could never get them to work well. I ended up buying the 105 gr swc .358 lee mold (so I could use it in both 380...
I just got back from shooting a few rounds. Everything worked great, no jams.
I picked up my brass after I shot the rounds and some of it had a black coating on the outside of it. Is that pretty standard for the type of powder I'm using, or could it be something else?

The reason I bought green dot is, a couple of years ago I tried loading with a lee hand loader tool. The little card that came with the tool listed green dot as a choice of powder to use so that's what I picked up.
I did try to get some Unique or bulls eye powder yesterday, but everybody...

I just double checked my book, it lists the start and max load both at 4.7 gr. It'll be okay though if I reduce it by 10% anyway?

I just bought a lee press and kit and I'm having a hard time trusting the powder scale. I am reloading 9mm with 115 gr fmj hp bullets. I am using green dot powder.
In my book, it says for 115...
