My Brown Executive Elite. Put together as well as anyone could build one. Perfect trigger, 100% reliable and very accurate.
Oh and the blued finish, no fcs, naked slide and traditional checkering just make it all I want in the looks department.
Ive always been a fan of Bullseye under the 200gr LSWC H&G bullet.
It was always 1.25" OAL 4grs for paper punching and 5grs for everything else. Cycled 5" guns with 16 and 18.5lb recoil springs with 19 and 21lb mainsprings.
I found TiteGroup dirty at mid loadings in the 45acp behind a 200gr LSWC. Lots of unburned powder all over my forearms as well. Pretty accurate but the chrono showed some occasional 70fps spreads, Im guessing it doesnt like metering through the Redding.
More than anything, it smokes as much...
Not exactly sexy but I like them.
What makes me happy.
Im just not a real flashy type of guy. I like em plain.
Out of the box satisfaction after years of looking.
If Im going to carry it or leave it in the nightstand I make sure its clean. Otherwise I clean them every 500rds which is usually once a week. I keep with either my Brown or Baer, I dont shoot more than one handgun outside of 22s at a time. So its range time for one, carry for the other.
Ive...
I think I paid $15.99 for this lb of TiteGroup I bought to try. Luckily my stash of Bullseye got me through the gouging. I did have to pay $280 for 10k of primers.
Given your options the new Colt Combat Elite is what Id buy.:D
Id rather have a Springfield Pro w/Rail though if I were LE. Wonder why your Dept. is stuck on those three?
I read your post and then totally forgot you could buy Springfield by the time I got to my chance to reply. I would...
Spend as much as you can and find one at a gunshop you want.
The new Colt Combat Elite is looking very nice for the money. So is the Dan Wesson Valor, the only one from them Id buy but I dont see you finding one in your price range. STI, Springfield MC Operator, used TRP are all excellent...
Great looking Baer.
I love mine, the more I shoot it the more I like it. I can say with all honesty Baers are probably the best bang for the buck deal going in 1911s although with the new price increases I dont know how much longer I'll be able to say it.
While its not as refined as my Brown the TRP is probably the best 1911 you can buy for 1400 or less. MIM or not, I bought mine for 1250 though and swapped out a lot of the MIM for total honesty.
First mag it had a slight hitch chambering a round all the way. Since then it has NEVER had a...
Ive had cheap(Colt 1991's) to my new this year Brown to a full custom Garthwaite. You get what you pay for. Sure I could have bought 5 RIA's or 4.5 Glocks but why?
As I get older, Im 35 this summer, I find myself choosing quality over quantity.
Only problem stepping up to something like a Baer is they become almost "potato chip" like. Then you start cleaning out the safe of lesser 1911's to buy more.
No I havent noticed the TRP's going "downhill". Quite the contrary actually, I bought mine 3 yrs ago I think. Great pistol for the money, good trigger w/o the ILS. The back of the slide and frame all fit together perfectly. Barrel fitting etc just shocking its as good for the money quite...
