    A look at the XDs

Got my black XDs about 3 months ago for $500 out the door. Love it! It shoots softer than my Les Baer. Not as accurate but not much is. Very impressive "small-ish" 45 with great ergonomics, sweet fiber optic, great build quality, nice trigger, and no controls for snagging on your...

    Beretta 21 or 950 Jetfire

I've got two of the Jetfires and love them! Very small, good accuracy, nice single action trigger, great build quality. They are still all over the place and sell fairly cheaply so I don't see parts being an issue. Good luck!

    Pawn shop finds

I just found a minty 1973 Colt Detective Special at a pawn shop near my Dad's house for $380 out the door. Original grips that look new, timing is perfect, locks up tight, and bluing is 98%. It's been awhile since I found a gem in a pawn shop so my faith has been restored!

Would like advice choosing a pocket pistol.

If you want a real POCKET gun, I'd look at the Seecamp LWS32. The other guns mentioned in this thread are excellent, but unless you constantly wear pants with huge cargo pockets and strong belts, they really aren't "pocket" guns.

    Your Go-To "Fun" Pistol

This one is easy - my HK P7. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Help me spend $1000: DW Heritage or FN Five-seveN?

Another 1911? <Yawn> Ho-hum. GET THE FN!! Yes, I owned one for a couple years. I don't regret selling that gun, but I do miss that gun. At least at the range I do. The Five-seveN is different than any other gun I ever owned. Even the safety was placed unlike any other handgun I've owned...

Hey Newbies , plan on buying you're 1st semi auto?

I've been shooting guns for almost 30 years now and I disagree with almost everything you said. 1. For the most part, you get what you pay for. No, you don't have to spend thousands, but some of the lower priced handguns are total junk. Buyer beware. 2. So how do you know which guns to...

    What should I get, AR-15 or AK-47?

    Marlin 1895 SBL vs. Benelli M4 H2O

Make sure you get the tube extension for your M4. When it comes to bears, I'd want to have every round possible at my disposal. My M4 has been totally reliable with all kinds of high power loads. Having said that, I do own a 1895SBL as well, and it has been my go-to rifle for hunting hogs...

    I need help...please discourage me from getting a 338-378...

Exactly. Using your logic, I think this is your smartest alternative. For me, when I got the big caliber itch, I found a sweet 1895 in 45-70 - much less expensive for the rifle itself and the ammo than what you're contemplating. Good luck and happy shooting!

    AK 47 milled vs stamped

I just picked up a Vector Arms AK-47 locally for $600. (Bulgarian Under-folder) Stamped receiver with wood furniture up front makes the weight very manageable. Super quality and shoots extremely well - couldn't be happier. (It's the one in the middle) :D

Wilson compact or Ed Brown Kobra Carry

Porsche or BMW? Only you can really answer your question. What's nice is there is no wrong answer. For me, I bought a Les Baer and couldn't be happier!

    The best HK?

I love the USP series, but for carry, the P7 simply can't be beat.

Smith and Wesson 625PC: Any Good?

I'm a big fan of Smith's Performance Center revolvers. Smoother action, better sights, and a trigger to die for! In fact, after buying my first one, I've slowly transitioned almost all my S&W revolvers to the PC versions. The 625 is no different - shooting that big, slow bullet is VERY...
