Hardly practical for anything other than random plinking and getting a big grin after squeezing the trigger 30 times.
As for ammo cost it sure is less than any centerfire unless one reloads off course.
I wonder if the fun factor will last though.
Kel-Tec has/will soon have a 30 round .22WMR pistol:

I've never owned a Kel-Tec but the 30 round capacity and the inexpensive rimfire ammo have caught my interest.
What do you think, nice plinker or just a waste of money?
Took a tour this morning and saw most of what is listed above.
Somehow I need to get adjusted to striker fired pistols and forget about clean breaking sears. All nice but so much plastic which makes for light carry but presents one more thing to get used to.
P232 is only(!) a .380 but darn...
Agreed on the HK P7, I had one and liked it until one day under stress it wouldn't fire: I was not squeezing it !
Need to take a look at the PPS, thanks.
For .22 I have the Walther TPH and this is what I've been putting in my pocket on occasion but now with the CWP I would like to step it...
A soon to be issued CWP is forcing me to think small, small enough to be carried on my 5'10" 140 lbs frame.
Long ago I had a Walther PPK/S 380 which shot straight but bit my big hand every chance it got, so no more Walthers for me.
I'm thinking about the Sig P232 but maybe there is a high...
Thanks guys and much obliged for all the good information.
Brad, I hope to find the elusive Suhl in my searches but it will take some doing to replicate your setup and your skills. Thanks for sharing.
Owen, the game would be at first the USBR and the NRA silhouette rimfire matches. If I...
Thanks guys, I knew I'd hit pay dirt here.
Unfortunately I could find no Suhls at this time but I will be talking to Mac Tilton -MT Guns- on Monday as he seems to be a key element in finding what I need.
This Russian and used German route is not quite as easy as walking in the next best...
Yes I did look at the CZ 453 Varmint but by the time you add a butt plate and sights and some kind of a comb you are in Annie territory.
The Russians are indeed the best bang for the buck such as the Izhmash / CM-2 but while many people list them at $600 + nobody has them in stock. They...
Having not shot a rifle in competition I thought I'd get started with a .22 lr just to see if I have what it takes without breaking the bank on thousands of rounds of centerfire ammo (not a reloader at this stage).
Anschutz is the magic word in .22 target rifles but even used ones that have...
I hearby officially give you the R127 Award For Coolest 7.62x39 Shooter I Have Yet Run Across!
Allow me to say ditto. Humbly.
The krochus rifle is what I'm dreaming of but I'm awake enough to know my limitations when it comes to performing any kind of handiwork on rifles. As for having...
