I'm not looking to "be a cheapy" - I have several factory Ruger mags. I was just wondering if the Tapcos are worth having at all.

That's my take too, Ringolevio. All my mags are Ruger factory as well. I was just hoping the TAPCOs might at least be good enough for plinking, but I think ill pass. As far as TAPCO being well respected, I've heard some good things about some of their accessories.

Home/estate defense, varmint hunting to 150 yards or so, plinking, fun. Basically anything you can do with an AR15 you can do with a Mini 14, just not at quite as long a range. I love mine. It is uberreliable and more accurate than people seem to think.

I see that the TAPCO mags for the Mini-14 are significantly less expensive than factory mags. Ordinarily I use only factory Ruger mags in my Mini, but TAPCO is a pretty well-respected name and I was curious as to whether their Mini-14 mags are reliable, and worth buying. I would appreciate input...

Would love to have a good .44 Special snub. It's a superb caliber for this use, IMO, recoil isn't too sharp and stopping power is excellent.

I always just use typewriter white out on my front sights. It's effective and easily removed. The SP101 is a superb revolver.
