    I've owned 1 or more 1911 from all the top semi-custom builders except SVI. My pick: Guncrafter Industries hands down my favorite.

    Well first the STI is made in the greatest country in the world- Texas. It has higher quality small parts and some hand fitting. It is also backed by STI's excellent warranty. They are very accurate and reliable guns. I've had 3. Also if you do a search I believe you see many horror stories...

    9mm 1911 and finicky hasn't been my experience either. I dint by the "1911 was made for .45 and doesn't work as well in anything else" argument. Complete B.S. For around the same money I think you would be happier with an STI Spartan 9mm. Better made gun.

    Quality, Accuracy, and CS are all top shelf. They will take care of you. $2300 used may be a bit high. Try $2100.
