    Show me the gun pictures!

ChCx2744 What happened that they ended up at the bottom of the Pacific? You do not need a thousand dollar camera, just get one of the cheap digital's with high mega pixel count. You can get really good ones for under 200. I feel bad for you losing your guns.

Am I using too much crimp?

Not to nit pick or argue but.... isnt removing the bell done by.. well.. crimping the case mouth back to proper size? At first I was going way overboard with it but I think I have it ironed out now. I have tested them in my pistol and they chamber good and do not push the bullet into the case...

Ammo Shortage merged threads, aka UberUltraMasterAmmoThreadOfPower

Then: Durring the run on ammo every thing was bought as fast as it could go. 5.56 got up to 800.00 per K. 9mm and 45acp were non existent. Now: Most of the sporting stores around here have full shelves. I've even been buying primers OTC for awhile now. It is limited to 200 per type per...

Am I using too much crimp?

The damage to the case head has been discussed in a different thread. My newest 1911 didn't have all of the proper machining done to the breach face. A very small part on the edge is raised and causing the casing to dent. Its no biggie, I have ordered files to correct the problem. Its small...

Am I using too much crimp?

Thanks RC. Will this much crimp lead to over pressure? Should the bullet not have any marks one it has been cripmed?

Am I using too much crimp?

The title says it all. If I am how much is needed on an auto pistol. I've read the crimping thread, but I just wanted to have my work double checked by those of you with a lot more experience then I have. The bullet on the left was pulled after I got the dies set up and the other is new.

Okay now I am really confused (shipping smokeless cartridge arms to your doorstep?)

So are you saying that buying a Garand from CMP is just shipped to you and not through a FFL?

Can you help me identify this cartridge.

I have some 300 mag brass that is not weatherby or Winchester. In the pics the first is 30-06, 300 Mag, "300 Win Mag" and 300 Wby Mag. I'm hoping that one of you more experienced gentlemen can help me. What kind of 300 Mag is this one? I cant find it it either of my Lee or Hornady...

    Your First Gun

My first gun was my Remington 7600 in .270. I bought it on the "layaway" plan when I was 15/16 and my dad put it in his name to get it out for me. It took me from spring to early fall to get it paid for mowing lawns and what not. I barely had time to get it sighted in before hunting season...

    Dents on the case head.

Fumbler, I took my pistol apart and checked the area you said and you are right. There is a slight area there that the face hits and causes the dent. Where can I find the small swiss files you mentioned?

    Dents on the case head.

I just got back from another range session and found all of my brass has dents on the case heads. The size and shape are the same as the part of the slide that pulls the round from the clip. Its a 1911. Does any one have an idea why this happens? Could it be the spring has too much tension and...

Vendors at gunshows filing off serial numbers

Or if one is a convicted felon from Montana, they can just go to any gun store and purchase a firearm legally. In Montana all gun rights are restored as per the state constitution once a felon discharges his or her sentence. I'm not sure, but I have heard that Texas and Florida are the same way.
