Tulsa M29 gets to its new home.

Thanks Chris, Not only lighting, but diffused lighting... I knew it had to be something with the lighting, plus some other stuff. Sounds like an undertaking when I have a lot of patience. And I'm a couple of lights short also. I have a Minolta A200, so at least the camera part is...

Tulsa M29 gets to its new home.

So Chris, you never did say, what is the secret to the great pictures? Is it lighting? I'm sure it is complicated, but if you could pass on a tip or two without writing a small book, I would much appreciate it. Mike

Tulsa M29 gets to its new home.

I left that one sit for 2 1/2 hours while I looked around, but it was not marked sold. I was lucky it was still there. I saw so many guns, it is hard to remember what else was there, but I seem to remember seeing one other 29-2, 4" blued gun with a case, but it might have been a 6 incher...

Tulsa M29 gets to its new home.

I found a 4" 29-2 at Tulsa, that blue finish is outstanding! I cleaned it, the fingerprints drove me nuts! Put a coat of Renaissance Wax on it and it looks much better. Now if I could learn to take pictures like yours. That is the best I could do. It doesn't do it justice. Mike

Bigger grips for J-Frame CCW suggestions ?

I got them from Hogue's Auction site a year or two ago. I don't remember what type of wood they said they were. There didnt appear to be any available for a round butt J-frame right now, but you could always get them directly from Hogue. http://www.hogueauction.com/index.php The ones I...

Bigger grips for J-Frame CCW suggestions ?

Here's a set of wood Hogue monogrips. Helps out that pinkie dangle, but still isn't too big for concealing. Mike

Any Fans of SW Third Gen Autos?

Here is my latest find! This is one fine shooting, dependable little carry gun. I don't know what took me so long to figure this one out! Someone got a little crazy polishing the slide, but the did remove the sharp edges so it is a fair trade off. One of the older 7 round magazine...

    Dan Wesson 1911's?

Mine came like that from the factory. If there is one complaint about DW's, it is the multitude fo different small internal parts, external parts, sights, and things they do to their guns. The quality is there, but you are never quite sure exactly what you are getting without asking. They...

    Dan Wesson 1911's?

I also have a PT-CBOB that I have been very satisfied with. A few minor teething issues out of the box, but nothing that needed a trip back to the factory. Just a little extractor tuning. Shoots everything I put through it, much more accurate than I am. Solid, well fit, crisp trigger, hard...

    3913 Vs Cs9

Very nice Kurt. What did you use to shape the of the 3913 grips, and does it leave the back strap covered or exposed with those modified grips? Mike:)

    3913 Vs Cs9

There was lots of valuable information here about the CS9 and 3913, most of my questions were answered. I still have two questions left. 1. Is there another style of grip which can be put on the CS9? The CS9 grip seems too fat in my hand or it is the rounded shape I don't like. Can't...

Most efficient and quickest cleaning method

_________________________________________________________ Rub a little JB Bore Paste into the patch, chuck it up in the drill and then use on a clean chamber. It will polish out some of the roughness and tool marks that hold on to the fouling and make cleaning so hard...

Most efficient and quickest cleaning method

Thanks bountyhunter. It sounds like an evolving process. I wasnt as concerned with cleaning the barrel, that wasnt a problem. But that burnt on stuff in the chambers is a real annoyance.

Most efficient and quickest cleaning method

bountyhunter I had seen this method you had wrote about once before, but forgotten all the details. My memory told me to use the 40Cal brush (bronze). :banghead: I did that last night, and I also ran the brush in and out of the chamber. Is that going to cause any problems? Should I have...
