Griffin and Howe 1903 target rifle

Very nice. It resembles a fancier version of the Springfield Armory Model "T". A bull barrel target model build for long range matches, released though the CMP. I wonder if G&H used those as a basis, or built from scratch. The T models were made from 24 through 1929, I think.

    Anybody shoot .300 Savage

Realistically its 75 yardsish behind the 308. Adjust accordingly. Not much to worry about.

    Walking in the woods rifle

A lever 30-30 sounds perfect. Consider also how easily a slab sided lever gun carries in hand.

    Long range shooting popularity

I wonder if many found that although they could buy the gear, actually doing it was harder.

Finally shot the new BLR .358

You will be able to push a 200 gr Hornady pretty fast with 4895, Tac. More than enough for deer and black bear.

    Browning BLR: Pro/Con

I have had a .308 since 81. Sub moa, carries nice. Also a .358 of the same vintage for a few years. Same accuracy. The triggers take some effort. The .308 has broken in over time. I would recommend them.

    Browning BLR model 81 value?

I would think $550 to$650 with the scope. Would be a great rifle. In the end its worth what you want to pay.

    BLR in 308

Fouled Bore I don't give it long at the bench. I would guess three shots in a couple of minutes. At that point the barrel is warm and I set it down and shoot something else.

    BLR in 308

My .308 BLR shoots 3/4 " groups with Sierra 165 gr boattails, Reloader 15 near max, Fed 210, Federal cases. 3 shot groups. Barrel heats up fast and strings high right with 5 shots.
