Just got some "crosscut" grips for my 81BB from LOK Grips in blue and black; love them (at least looks-wise)! They are significantly thinner versus the original grips and have just enough of a pattern to keep your hands in place. Everything you need, nothing that you don't. Haven't shot this at...
film495 - Classic has some of the tapered ones at the moment - Model 10-7, Square Butt, 4" Tapered Barrel, supposedly "Good" condition...something to ponder...
Yeah...I've been monitoring them...they've got the following at the moment:
Smith & Wesson Model 10-6 Police Turn-In Revolvers 38 Spl 4" Blued Heavy Barrel - 6 Round. Surplus Fair - worried about the surplus fair condition
Smith & Wesson Model 10-7 Police Turn-In Revolvers .38 Spl 4" Blued...
I actually don't see any damage to the front of the cylinder at any point...thoughts?
We'll, the family member this belonged to had quite a few screws loose (pun intended!) so that wouldn't surprise me. Makes sense though.
Noted, thanks for the direction on that - much appreciated. I'll give...
Schlegel - they look very nice! Wondering about the width though - would you say they are about the same width as the stock grips, slightly more or slightly less?
+1
Agreed, same here! However, while the MOE K2 is certainly pretty good already, I actually like the BCM Gunfighter mod 3 grip slightly better. Slightly better design all-around, IMHO. Probably any future non-retro AR builds that I do will wear BCM Gunfighter Mod 3 grips.
Hi Folks,
I've been tossing around the idea in my head about purchasing a surplus pre-lock S&W Model 10, 4" heavy barreled revolver if the right gun came along. To me, functionality and lockup comes first and foremost, and outer condition outside of rust (AKA "looks") is secondary. I've been...
Hi THR,
I recently acquired a Llama Comanche III .357 magnum revolver from a family member and after hitting the range with .38's it works as one would expect. However, I noticed that when I am closing the cylinder back into the revolver it always hits the edge of the forcing cone but will...
Hi THR,
I recently had the pleasure of acquiring 2 of the Beretta 81BB's from Classic Firearms and was thinking of putting aftermarket grips on at least one of them (picture is attached).
Initially I was thinking of picking up a pair of Beretta 84 grips from LOK Grips (website link is...
Nice timing OP! Speak of the devil, about a week or two ago I placed an order for the "ultra thin" LOK grips for my beretta 92 full-size pistol. When I receive them in the mail (should be by the end of the month, hopefully...) and put them on I will let you know my impressions vs regular grips...
Hey Ray - just to double-confirm, by pinch your saying that your finger still gets pinched between the bottom of both HBI triggers and the trigger guard when firing, is that right? Just making sure as I think for me I experienced the pinch but not any bite with the OEM trigger unit.
And also...
Ah...between this conversation and checking some online chatter about this topic think I'm understanding something now. With striker-fired pistols, in particular the CZ P10 series, it seems to me that there are two distinct trigger-specific issues, trigger BITE and trigger PINCH. It sounds to me...
Hi THR,
I'm guessing the CZ Forum probably is a better place to ask this question but I thought I'd check here first as I follow THR quite a bit...
I shot both Glock 19 Gen 5 and a CZ P10C (both 9mm) rentals about a week ago. I liked both but preferred the overall feel, shooting and handling of...
Thanks a bunch for all of your opinions; much appreciated. I do live in a large market area (general area around Chicago, IL) and so I'll definitely not rush into anything and try to prioritize checking revolvers in person or possibly ordering from someone with a concrete inspection/return...
