What state has the highets per capita of cc and/or oc?

Baltimore? Only illegal CCW; honest folk in MD can't get a permit. Political connections or big bucks brings home the pistol, the rest of us don't count.

    Happiness is a Worn Gun

I read the article recently, like in the last week or so. Then I bid on an inexpensive Detective Special on GB, and learned that the seller was the author of this article! Made me chase it a little harder; I ended up with the DS, a bunch of holsters for it, and a signed copy of the man's...

    Berni Goetz Whats your take

Law is a substitute for justice. Sometimes laws are fair-minded attempts to ensure that justice will be done. Frequently this is not the case. That is why we have juries. A jury can nullify a law that is causing an injustice in the case they are considering. Natural law seems to indicate that...

Advice needed for anti family member's first range trip

Before going to the range, send her a link to Corneredcat(dot)com. It might be a good idea to have another, perhaps female, instructor on hand. The sibling thing might bring unnecessary overtones to your instructing her. (Then again, maybe not. I have no idea of your family dynamics and...

    S&W--Hey or Ney?

There's enough attractive, well-made functional old S&Ws out there to keep me happy. Youall go ahead and buy the new stuff; it'll keep the prices down on the ones I want. Thanks.

Guns you would like to see in production

    Webley-Fosbery (semi)automatic revolver H&K P7 in .45 ACP Colt 1908 .380

all right you model 10 guys......

"Heavy Barrel... Faster recoil recovery, looks better, nicer feel of heft, better for Pistol Whipping if need be." That covers it. I like the extra weight out front, plus it has an authoritative look to it.

    Firearms - As an Investment

I"m not thrilled with the Wall Street sort of investment. Very like Vegas; the house always wins. Recent incidents in the market convince me that it's a rigged game for insiders; any profits made by the little guys are merely luck. Gold goes up and down. It's a non-producing asset that hedges...

    Shipping a gun (Personal Sale)

"BEQUEST or intestate succession". I think "bequest" covers Jim-Bob.

Should there be stricter limits on law enforcement weapons?

There's a serious overuse of SWAT teams in some areas. If you have to justify the expense of keeping a hammer, sometimes every job starts to look like a nail.

Could someone explain what a "target" gun is?

I seem to recall that Smith made some Chief's Specials with adjustable sights. They were marked Model 50. Hard to imagine a 2" barrel target pistol. Wouldn't mind having one in 3" though. I think 3" J-frames are ideal carry pistols.

UPS loses my gun in the mail...what do I do?

I've used UPS to ship any number of fairly delicate and expensive musical instruments. Fortunately I live 15 minutes from a major hub, so I take the pkgs there. When I tell them how much I want to insure it for, frequently a supervisor will open the box to check the packing. hat way I have a...

    Nitrile gloves for cleaning

Folks who have had to use latex for years (because there wasn't anything else) sometimes develop an allergy to the stuff. Nasty itching and broken bubbling skin. The ones with powder on them are even worse. Best to avoid latex if you can.

    Why Are New Guns Ugly?

Goes right along with the Decline of the West. Pretty much everything is getting uglier these days: we're going to have to drive little electric roller-skate cars, our lakes and streams are invaded by non-native species that are wrecking ecosystems, the water supply (and lakes and rivers) are...

The new supreme on 2nd amendment

Looks good, but I don't put any faith in statements by folks looking for appointment to high office; opportunists all. Once nominated into a position of great power for life, the true sentiments will emerge. At which point it's too late, of course, to effect change.
