Im with you greenmtnguy, I shoot a lot of the 300g HPs around 2150fps. I get MPBR out to about 200y for pigs, and it drops 'em.

I shoot the 400/405g bullets around 1750fps from my 18" GBL. From memory I'm using about 46g of H4198. It's a hard hitting load, which still delivers a modicum of recoil. Much more pleasant than those very hot loads however. And you don't lose too much in terms of maximum point blank range...

Be keen to see what the bullet looks like when coloured-in with a Sharpie and chambered... Have you also tried inserting a bullet into a fired case, with the case mouth crimped with pliers, and chambering said long-seated bullet to see what oal comes out?

I have two and had two others. Along with the Howa, they're the best value bolt action rifle on the market. All four of mine were 1.25moa accurate out of the box and with tweaking, sub moa.
