I have a Tikka T3 laminated in 300 WSM. This group is at 307 yards. Rem brass, barnes TTSX 168's on top of 70 grains of RL 22. Should work for elk.

Having not measured .002" bump, can I do the same thing with a dial caliper? or is it just a matter of incrementally adjusting your die until the shell just chambers easily? Thanks for the reply

Geno- Thanks for the heads up. It's a good website. I just need to learn a lot and shoot more. Theory is fine to me, but I've only put about 200 rounds through the rifle, 300 yards max. I'll validate what the website says with real data.

Well, my reload is where I want it in terms of velocity and MOA. I'm gonna leave mine zeroed at 300, which is 3.5" high at 100, zero at 300 and 10" down at 400. That's easy math for me and should work with my reticle set up. Now I just need to keep in powder and primers. Hope an elk walks...

The reticle is about 1.5" above the muzzle....roughly.

R E: Thanks. Ya, I've narrowed down the cause.. I just find that we're exceptionally good at it. Eight kids, 11 and under. I wouldn't trade it for the world, as each one is a gift. And their mother still talks to me!! Lets hope I survive elk hunting....
