    Remington Model 48 Sportsman

I need a magazine cap for a 16 ga. Mod 48 Sportsman. I've tried Numrich, Brownells and Bobs to no avail. Can anyone help?

    Really, really dumb A-5 question

I'd love to find a Rem. 11 for that price - but as I am on a cruise right now Gunbroker is pretty much my only source. Downright depressing. Newer may be better, may not. Can't go wrong if JMB designed it, though.

    Really, really dumb A-5 question

I've never seen or fired any A5 but the twelve gauge and the 16. I have two questions regarding the twenty gauge - is the receiver actually smaller, or is it built on a 12 ga., and secondly, how is the recoil, comparatively speaking? I'm looking for a good auto for my wife, who is very recoil...

Bayonet lug for an 870 Police

Bayonets are very useful on shotguns. With the 1917 bayonet, I don't have to bend over to pick up the squirrels. Beautiful savage, what model?

IAC M97 Trench gun - where is the S/N?

Where did they put the serial number on the IAC/Norinco 1897 trench gun repros?

    Election Outcome

Projection and wishful thinking will allow people to believe they can vote for the most anti-gun candidate in memory, yet he won't pursue his stated agenda. His vehement and repeated statements of opposition to our rights notwithstanding, they believe that if only he is elected, all their hopes...

    S&W Hammerless Safety firing pin

Beautimous. Should be a breeze from here, if I have the right material to turn the new one. You're right, I can't claim skill, it must be luck - but I'll take it where I find it :D Wouldn't have gotten anywhere without you guys helping! Thanks again

    S&W Hammerless Safety firing pin

Thanks, Old Fuff, and Jim too. Bought punches at the local china-mart, turned one down on a buddys' lathe, put a ball mill in the center rest and 'cupped' the face. Didn't have to remove the hammer, just the main spring. Bushing came out forward with a few gentle taps, and sure enough...

    S&W Hammerless Safety firing pin

Thanks, Jim! Great info. Will be buying punches today, and using a friends' lathe to turn them down to correct diameter. Drill rod? Would corrosion resistant stainless do the trick? Non-machinist here, but I'm about to give it a go. Gun Parts is out, Jack First gun parts has 'em (well...

    S&W Hammerless Safety firing pin

Adopted a nice S&W Lemon Squeezer today - not sure which model, the front blade is fixed, SN is 1872XX, it is a 32. Nickel, with pearl grips with the S&W medallion. Nickel is lightly freckled, grips are perfect, seems to function smoothly. Durn firing pin is broke, I think. Tried dry...

    Followup to Chet Szymecki's arrest

I am also interested in the outcome of the case. I'm a little confused, though, and hope one of the legal eagles here can straighten me out. Why would the police call the city attorney? As far as I knew, he is not part of the justice system, just the legal advisor for the incorporated city...

Why did the U.S. Military give up on the M-14 so quickly?

Not strictly germaine to the question, but... Within the last month or so, all M14's have been pulled from the fleet(s), except for the line throwing guns - 2 per vessel, usually. They were replaced by M16's. Wonder where those rifles went? (*duh). Been a while since I've attended a...

1 less gun for grandkids to worry about

This is a signed editorial 'opinion piece' in the Charlotte Observer. Man, it is a good thing that rapists, thugs, and thieves don't read the paper! With a phone book and a few minutes, they'd have an address to go with the 'certified gun free' home. Its' a good thing that rapists aren't...

Had my 2nd Amendment Rights suspended today.

Hey, She, I'm willing to believe you aren't crazy. :D I know that not all women are willing to lie in order to raise their standard of living, and lie again in order to keep that standard of living without the attendant duties and responsibilities of a marriage. But if recognizing the...
