Academy Monarch brand 20 gauge #1 buckshot?

I havn’t tried Monarch but Rio branded 20 gauge 1 buck 9 pellet patterns better (about 0.75”-1” wide per yard of distance) than 3 or 4 buck in my 870 and penetrates better. 1 buck stacks 3 pellets per layer in this loading.

    why not a bullpup?

    why not a bullpup?

As mentioned earlier the main drawback to using a bullpup indoors is the inability to use it from both shoulders without eating brass. When you pie a corner you lead with the weapon, not your support shoulder. The Keltec bullpups address this downfall. The forward ejecting RFB .308 is too much...

XM-177 Type flash hiders ... do they work?

It’s all good, correcting misinformation is not a personal attack. I perceived no flame (ha).

@lysanderxiii thanks for correcting my over-simplified incomplete explaination. I learned something new today!

Looking for advice on a AR-40 upper.

So far this is the only place I’ve found that offers ramped .40 AR barrels: https://shootinginnovationsllc.com/products/40sw-ramped-pcc-barrel Note that these ramped barrels and the feed ramp I made won’t work with all Glock mag lowers. I tried fitting my completed upper with a Foxtrot Mike FM9...

Looking for advice on a AR-40 upper.

@Nclear79 I recently built a .40 S&W upper with a New Frontier Armory Glock mag lower and matching last round bolt hold open upper set. I used a Faxon 10” barrel. Hand cycling the rounds fed fine no problem but I had some troubleshooting to do right off the bat when I took it to the range. I...

    First AR Assembly... Need Advice.

@N555 by any chance were those broken bolts being used on a piston/op rod gas system? Those are notoriously harder on bolts than a regular direct impingement system.

XM-177 Type flash hiders ... do they work?

The 5.5” flash hiders are more barrel extensions than hiders. They may mute the muzzle flash to an extent versus a bare muzzle but they aren’t as effective as a real flash hider. Unburned power exiting the muzzle mixes with oxygen in the air to burn causing a brighter flash. One way to stop an...

Mid-length Gas System With Carbine Buffer?

I like adding heavier than standard 3 oz buffers to slow down the action operation with carbine length gas, but have found reliability will suffer when you add too much weight to most mid or rifle length systems. Different manufacturers have different gas port diameters so there’s no one buffer...

    H-Buffer for 11.5" bbl AR15, or no?

Never used an H-buffer with it, but my personal experience is with a 11.5" Colt barrel with 5" FH. I put about 3000 rounds of Wolf downrange without any failures after installing an MGI recoil reducing buffer. Before adding the heavy buffer I was getting occasional failures to extract and feed...

Is this the best deal going on AR15's?

My S&W 5.45 M&P now serves flawlessly, though it had some teething problems. When I first shot it, it would give me patterns, not groups. It would not hold less than a 24 MOA group. Embarrassed with my shooting, I inspected the rifle for loose components to blame, and found the barrel rattled...
