I really wanted to like the Ruger LCP .380. At 9 ounces, its hard to argue the conceilability of the Ruger.
I shot the Ruger 3 different times at the range before I bought the Bodyguard. Moved my finger around to try and find the sweet spot on the trigger, but regardless of where along my...
I will say that this Bodyguard .380 really fits right in the pocket very nicely without a holster - easy to forget its there. I also shifted my holster to about 4 O'clock and its barely noticeable. I have soft pocket-holster from a .38, but its a bit too bulky for this .380...
Any recommendations for holsters for the BG .380? I bought a nice little leather multi-purpose (iwb/owb) but it occasionally turns on the laser while holstered...
Imagine I'll be chewing up batteries fairly quickly due to this...
After a few range rentals, I picked up a BG .380 this morning from Gander Mountain for $329. They also had an extra Mag available which I scooped up. I really like this gun. I put 105 rounds through it today - perfect performance. Laser is easily activated, gun is amazingly accurate.
I...
Love my S&W M&P 40C. After 5 years, my second CCW permit is about to expire so I took the renew and re-certify course on Friday night. The 40c work perfectly (no big surprise). 1000+rounds, never failed to fire or eject.
I have to admit its a heavy brick on my side though and my...
S&W Bodyguard .380 for $349-$369 is worth renting. I did last week (along with the P238). Very different guns, but I did like the way the S&W shoots (the laser is kinda lame - at least the one on my rental gun was). The Sig was very, very nice as well. Gander Mountain regularly sells the...
I've been really stalling on this decision until my local GS had these in as rental guns. This morning I called and they had recently brought both of them into their rental pool. I brought about 150 rounds with me and put about 75 rounds through each gun. (Full disclosure I also have a S&W...
I'm the OP,
Today I was at Gander Mountain and a distraught woman was at the gun counter telling tales of the take down pin dropping out of her Bodyguard. This didn't do anything to restore my confidence that anyone (neither Sig nor S&W) has mastered the art of making a solid (and small)...
In the Minneapolis market, Gander Mountain and Cabelas do not have them in stock (and have been out of stock for weeks now). An independent camping/outdoor store called Joe's Sporting Goods has them in stock at $349 (everyday price).
Have only shot the LCP - and found it pretty acceptable - and it fits perfectly anywhere... Still am waiting to shoot the BG. I started a thread on this just last night: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=578585
Fragin, the P238 is my other top consideration. Double the price... And I'm sure close to double the quality/construction... Sounds like most of the new P238s are getting much higher praise than the early production guns.
This Saturday 3/5, Cabellas will be offering the Ruger LCP .380 with 2 mags, and a galco pocket holster for $319.00.
I've put about 50 rounds through a friend's Ruger LCP (and really found it quite acceptable), love the weight and design for carry.
That said, I also like the looks...
S&W M&P40C as well. Wonderfully smooth shooter, but loaded with 10 rounds, its just under 2 pounds. This has caused me to consider a S&W Bodyguard or Sig P238. Definitely 2 steps down in caliber, perhaps another option might be looking at 9mms such as Ruger's new LC9.
Looking for a pocket gun and have narrowed it down to the Sig P238 (complete with its checkered past) and the S&W Bodyguard 380. I currently have a S&W M&P 40C and really love it (its just too much weight to comfortably carry). I can get the Sig (with Crimson Trace and Rosewood Grips) for...
Good to hear you've had good luck with it.
For what it's worth, that sale is over on Feb 26th. Each time they get a delivery of guns, they seem to get 4-5 at a time and sell out by Sunday (at least in my market). Today is delivery day so hopefully there are a few on the truck.
