A friend used to have an EAA Witness polymer .45 with a full-sided slide and compact frame that could be lengthened with a full-sized mag fitted with a rubber sleeve.
EDIT TO ADD: It looked like this one (found this pic with some google-fu):
I didn't look at your online auction link, and I'll give you that I could order it if I wanted. However, for those of us who are not willing to do the online buying thing, we are still limited to what's locally available in our area. I regularly peruse the local Ad Pages, which always has a...
I don't know where the OP is located, but I see that you are from Colorado; I think you need to step back and realize there can be a strong geographic variation in the price and availability of different types of firearms. For instance, in large areas of the midwest and east coast pretty much...
You could trade the mini-14 in for a mini-30 and keep ammo commonality. If that is not an option I would probably sell off the two sks for another mini-14. I like the sks but the 14 beats it IMHO with its detectable mag and ergonomics.
I voted 7.62x39mm, but I think its a tossup with .30-30. Basically anything that can kill a deer or a human, is affordable to buy and shoot and can deliver a shot out to 150 yards will do. my choices:
SKS
.30-30, .357, or .44 lever action
autoloading pistol cal carbine (hi-point, marlin camp-9...
Got this from a guy at work for $130. He said it dated to sometime in the 20's. It is the takedown model. When I got it I had to soak the takedown screw in penetrating oil; now I can easily take it apart and put it together with a coin. Also, it is ridiculously quiet with shorts or CB caps...
I was sitting @ the break table @ work and this guy asked if anybody wanted to buy a .22. Said it was a "Stevens single shot .22 lever action" to which I replied "you mean it's a falling block". He said "yeah I guess".
Anyway he wants $175 for it, which I don't really want to pay...
Thanks guys. I kind of knew when I saw the ad that this was a must get. you know that feeling, like when you see "pistol for sale was my husband's says Mark IV Series 70 on side with a pony drawing. will trade for yard work". that kind of thing.
Saw in the classified section "Remington Model 11, rusted some in storage, shoots very well, $200". I know pretty much nothing about this gun except that it is a clone of the Browning Auto-5 which was the first autoloading shotgun developed by the late, great John Moses Browning.
My question...
Nice gun. I saw on the history channel that they also put a leather loop on the abbreviated butt-stock that would go over your shoulder so the gun would hang barrel-down under your arm. Keep it out of view under an overcoat and when you need it open the jacket, raise the forearm with your...
I just bought a NEF Pardner 18" cylinder today for $219 + tax at Dick's sporting goods. I also handled the Savage 350. they wanted $299 for the Savage, but it came with ghost rings and an extra 28" barrel, which I thought was dumb, since I can't see being able to swing on a bird with the rear...
I think the reason for the heavier barrel on the 590A1 vs. the 500 or 590 was primarily about supporting the bayonet in the event it was actually used on a human being. the 20" A1s have the lug if I remember, while the 590 non-A1s don't.
It seems it's going to be hard to get a 686+ alone for under $500, nevermind the shotgun. If you're trying to get a revolver and a shotgun for that price I think you should be looking for a Charter Arms, Rossi, Taurus or maybe a used Ruger. Maybe not the prestige name of Smith & Wesson, but i'm...
