    Heritage Rough Rider

Here's a thread I did a while back between my Heritage Rough Rider and my three-screw Ruger Single-Six. Interestingly, I got both for about the same price! (That WAS a few years ago though...) https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/heritage-vs-the-single-six.640428/

To age, or not to age

I say keep it as is, to mean "Don't make it look worn and old" artificially. Enjoy it, and it'll wear into that perfect use-level that suits you -- perfectly! That said, I'll give you plenty of leeway to do what you want with your gun. I'll expect the same courtesy. =) Also, does anyone...

The good ol days of 1959...

WOW. I've seen Mausers, and I've been in an Army/Navy store or two, but, wow.

Pawn Shops That Buy, But Don't Sell

That's what I wondered. It seems pretty common to use other venues to sell firearms such as online, other stores, etc. I appreciate everyone sharing their thoughts, experience.

Pawn Shops That Buy, But Don't Sell

Maybe? In our state (FL), face-to-face is still an option. Does that mean they don't need FFL to buy (If they don't sell them?)

Pawn Shops That Buy, But Don't Sell

That's what I thought. We went into a few and sure enough, "Nope! Don't sell guns." But,,, you've got a 12 foot sign that says, "We BUY guns!" My only thought was that they must have an agreement with a local FFL or have tables at gun shows?

Pawn Shops That Buy, But Don't Sell

I had been wondering about something and thought I would ask the folks here on the forum. I know that some have worked in pawn shops, and may have a direct insight into my question. I see several pawn shops that have signs, "We buy guns!" but, they DON'T sell guns. I was curious about this...

1973 Ruger Single Six or 2019 Heritage RR

While your post IS funny.... it really does come down to whether you've got the $$$$ for the Rolex, or some quarters in your pocket. Each serves a purpose. While the Ruger isn't such a vast step as the Rolex, I doubt the HRR is also much a "claw machine" toy either. Know what you're buying and why.

1973 Ruger Single Six or 2019 Heritage RR

This comes up from time to time. I have both, and did an incredibly non-scientific, but hopefully, somewhat informative thread on this discussion a while back. Feel free to check it out. https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/heritage-vs-the-single-six.640428/

Baby Got a new Pair of Shoes!

Well, the grips are the first thing you notice (nice work), but when my eyes settled in on the break top and that distinctive trigger... Definitely a CLASSIC!!!! Very nice.

    Shopping for well-priced used guns

Been fairly lucky here just stopping in to see what they've got. I usually head to the "orphan bin" first to see what's new. Sometimes there's a good deal, sometimes there's not. Recently purchased a Uberti 45 Colt for just over $100 because the dealer at the gun show table thought it was...

Salty Wood Belgium Browning T-Bolt Restoration

My dad used to do that. He'd get a stock blank and then fit it to any one of several Mauser actions. He'd spend HOURS fitting the action to the wood. Then, form the outside of the stock to suit the new owner. He built a lot of guns for folks in the area and each one of his children. I'm not...

Salty Wood Belgium Browning T-Bolt Restoration

Yeah, I saw that. It all depends on what the owner wants to do with the wood. Gonna check and see what the availability is of a different stock, but want to make sure that it's not the same thing we already have. In the meantime, I'll be focusing on the metal. Going to have to do some cleaning...

Salty Wood Belgium Browning T-Bolt Restoration

Just thought I'd update everyone on the progress. It's been slow going, but we're taking our time and learning in the process. Here are a few pics of what welcomed us when we opened up the stock and barrel. It's pretty ugly!

How fast does your bullet come down?

I've wondered about this from time to time. Someone explained that at some point, the bullet stops, and has to start it's trek back down. Now, all it has is gravity to overcome friction with the air. That always helped me understand why it doesn't come down at the same rate. Now, what I just...
