    Build the lightest AR10 ever?

Less than that. Look at Christensen Arms, they're about 4-500 for a carbon fiber AR10 barrel. The problem is that they still aren't that light. 2.3lb. http://www.christensenarms.com/products/carbon-barrel/ca-10-barrels/

    Build the lightest AR10 ever?

The G2s are light, but they don't have a lot of configurations. The G2 Recon still weighs 8.5lb with an 18 inch barrel. An 18 inch M&P 10 weighs 7.71lb, with an 18 inch barrel that's thick up until the gas block, not a pencil barrel like the standard G2s. But with JMT Enterprise's new polymer...

    S&W M&P-10 Range Report

I've shot M80 spec ammo just fine-PMC and ZQ. Maybe some of the other brands are more underpowered than those?

savage 110 build the way Rugers GSR should be.

So you want a standard bolt action with a detachable magazine and a flash hider...not a GSR at all. Thats where you confused people. So just get the rifle you want, buy an AICS style mag conversion, chop off an arm and sell it to buy mags, then thread the barrel and throw on your chosen muzzle...

    Question regarding S&W M&P-10

It can and has been done. Not as optimal as something like a 24 inch 6.5 Creedmore, but a .308 can do it as long as your rifle is accurate and your load is still supersonic at 1000 yards. My M&P10 has been just as accurate as most bolt actions-sub MOA groups with handloads/match, so as long as I...

    Question regarding S&W M&P-10

Prvi is good ammo, I use it in some of my other guns. Haven't shot their .308 yet. Expect it to be at least slightly underpowered compared to US match ammo. Price is def good though, you might even find it cheaper elsewhere.

    Question regarding S&W M&P-10

Gotcha. Well, Hornady Custom and Federal Gold Medal Match have worked very well for me in the factory dept!

    Question regarding S&W M&P-10

Huh. Always thought the recoil on the M&P 10 was pretty light. Maybe it's just the recoil pad on the HK buttstock I put on it. As for ammo, barrel length isn't as much of a factor as the twist rate. I've had great luck with 175gr ammo, and right now I'm working on a new handload with Sierra...

    Psa ar10

Not necessarily true. They wouldn't sell one member on here parts because he split the barrel on his gun. That wasn't a failure of the rifle, and for their own liability I believe they couldn't just send him a new barrel, not knowing what else could have been damaged.

    Better accuracy: M1A or SCAR?

Most scar 17s seem closer to 2800-3000 than 2500 anyway. Plus tax if you buy from a store.

I've lost my mind - in a good way

Yeah, just looked it up. Panoche...looks nice. Just too bad it's 4 hours from where I live, Santa Rosa. Vortex optics are great. I plan to put the same scope on my M&P 10.

I've lost my mind - in a good way

BLM land? We have BLM land in the bay area? Only BLM land I've shot on is Utah/Nevada. I'd suggest a Vortex scope kinda like this. http://swfa.com/Vortex-4-16x44-Viper-HS-T-30mm-Rifle-Scope-P63837.aspx Should be plenty tough enough, good scope for getting some distance out of the rifle too.

The first American-made Kalashnikovs are now for sale

Several different AK's have been made in the US for a long time. This 'Kalashnikov USA' has no connections with the actual Kalashnikov concern. Their rifles may be OK, but it's not hard to screw up an AK. I thought a lot of their rifles were still Saiga builds too.

Opinions of those with hands on experience of Tavor bullpup

Any aftermarket solutions to that last one? Seems like a folding charging handle would be an easy mod to make.

You could say that about most of the tactical carbines for sale today. That price range just seems like what the market can demand and sell right now.
