    Alaska maybe

I have the wife running a 30-06 looking at getting a savage 99f in 300 savage together for her. It's not that hard to find 300 savage up here. She also got her bow course completed, will be putting in for those hunts top. Remember a lot of people bow hunt these animals. Firearms give you a...

    Opinions on Henry rifles.

I have more experience sitting the Henry 22 a little bit, friend of mines gun. It was smooth, to me it had a weird popping noise(I'm use to me Marlins clacky clack). I still think my 39a is smoother, but it's from the early 60s, and I haven't given more than 280 for a 39a, seen them as low as...

Winchester Model 70 Alaskan- which caliber?

Talked with a good friend up here in Alaska, where I'm stationed. This was a few years back, and he's one for custom guns in different calibers. His words? A 30-06 will take anything in Alaska. If he feels like he needs a 300 win mag, buy one. It's not magic, find one your happy with. I...

    is leupold worth it?

Haven't had a leupold fail. Can't say the same about others. To me? On a hunting gun? Haven't paid more that the mid one hundreds. I love picking up a used gun with a leupold for 350-400.

    New scope for .243

Leupold, Burris. Maybe vortex. See what looks best in your eyes. Nikon lost me after looking through their scopes compared to the competition, and dealing with their customer service(though I've heard they got allot better in recent years). Vortex is trying with their customer service, but...

Help Selecting Extended Long Range Caliber

Cheapest commercial ammo I've seen is 223@ about .27 per round. 3000 rounds of 308 is .60 a round. That's what? 1800 our so? Shooting out a barrel? On a budget? Best of luck. Practice out to 200yds with your 22. Or buy what you want to shoot. It's your money, there is no magic caliber...

    Nikon prostaff scope experiences?

Haven't cared for the glass for cost, bought one sight unseen online(prostaff). Thought it was good. 300wm broke it(40 rds?). Nikons cs drove me away forever. Since then only scope I've looked through that was a Nikon and looked decent was a 15 or so year old monarch. I don't care for...

    lever action options

Thought about something in 45lc? I know marlin made a run of cowboys in that. Found one a few months back in almost new condition for under 600. Like my 30-30, and 45-70. But my 30-30 does see more time overall, hunting and range. See what you want.

    Help with scope selection

Ha, have the same gun tikka t3 in 7mm-08. Wearing a leupold vx-3 3.5-10, moved a viper pst 2-10x32 off. Great move away from that scope. Didn't have a good fit, big heavy, but now I'm wanting to go lower. 2.5-8 fits what Im currently on the look out for. You want more, less, same...

What Is The Most Accurate, Durable And Well Made 22LR For Around $300?

Pawn shops. That and local classifieds. Patience is key. Be ready when the irons hot. Plus the more you buy from the pawn shops the better your deal gets. Plus cash always works. Some deals here in Alaska, more than a few in North Carolina.

What Is The Most Accurate, Durable And Well Made 22LR For Around $300?

Marlin 39a, haven't paid more than 280, some under 200 in like new condition. Patience, find what you want, start the search. Meet the price point you want. Good luck. 10/22s should come in easy around 100(from what I've seen 90-125, 4 or 5 in the last couple years)

Article on how to sight in a scope. Needs review.

Skimmed the article. Big issue I have is on the screws, tight, but not to tight. Torque screwdrivers aren't that hard to find. No it's not rocket science, to me the article seemed long and complicated. But I have sighted in many rifles. Easy way? Mount the scope up, bore sight it, go to...

    Need some new glass

Leupold hadn't failed on me, had failures with most other common brands. Put your eyes through some scopes in your price range, find what fits you. If I was to go with one from the hip? Leupold, haven't had the best of luck with some other brands customer service. Had good luck with Burris cs.

Need input; Kimber vs. Nosler actions.

Fyi, 99/100 and 90/100 ate two different percentages. At this point handle each and pick what works best. Although a number that has issues feeding to me is more concerning than poor machining(just off of what was posted, although those rifles would be in the running for brown bear for me)...
