Remington Model 8 vs Steel plates

Hey fellas, I wanted to share with y'all a little test we did seeing if some of Remington's claims from 1906-1910 were true. They advertised the Model 8 in .35Rem, firing a 200gr. soft point, could penetrate either 1/4" or 5/16" steel (mild presumably) plates. We put them to the test. Enjoy...

    Kiss rifle pic thread

Old school tacticool. Remington Model 81 in .35Rem. 15 Round magazine. Lyman 6R express style rear sight & Marbles tang sight gives this rifle 3 sighting options. Very KISS.

    .32 ACP Carbines

Kudos to Tim Watson...The Tirmax was a very well made 32ACP carbine made in Belgium in the early 20th century. I have a friend who owns one, they're quite rate in the United States.

Tell me about the Remington Model 8

They were good enough for John Browning to hunt with! He's holding his personal 35cal rifle here. Jackson Hole area, Wyoming circa 1910.

    Vintage law enforcement rifles

The earliest account, that I know of, listing who carried what firearm is from Sheriff Jordan during his interview with True Detective Magazine, November 1934. His list directly corresponds to the photographs we have of the firearms on top of Bonnie & Clyde's car at the ambush site (as pictured...

    Vintage law enforcement rifles

LeonCarr, I made a video discussing why the Police Model 8 @ the ambush claim is almost certainly false. Most of the supposed facts have been refuted, though unfortunately they keep being repeated even by authorities like "American Rifleman" and "Guns & Ammo". You can check it out at the link...

    Vintage law enforcement rifles

Great looking Model 81 you got there Mustang51 :D Both those rifles were great law enforcement guns, both in standard and "police" format. Good shooting too! 5 rounds of 30 Remington go fast, 15 rounds just takes a tad longer!

    New Thompson SMG's Any Good?

I have a Kahr/Auto Ordnance factory built M1A1 SBR (10.5" barrel). I got mine back around 2006. When the rifle arrived to my dealer the wood color was so mismatched he sent the rifle back. They replaced the stock to closer match the forearm and grip. One of the buttplate screws was boogered...

    Detachable Magazine .30-06 Rifles

If money is no problem (and you can actually find one) then google "Cobb MCR-300". It's an AR-10 type rifle chambered in 30-06 that accepts modified 20 round BAR magazines. I think Cobb made 100 of them in 2006.
