Which gun to buy? Special EURO guy requests.

Get a Glock G19 or 17 and at least six spare magazines. If you don't like the trigger pull, get a 3.5 lb target trigger added and start practicing. Practice ammo is cheap and available, and the high performance ammo is effective for defense. I'm a 1911 .45 acp man but wouldn't hesitate to sue...

    8x57 Lever Action

I agree with the 8MM/06 being the best bet, but I'm guessing that he isn't going to go for it. Hope he can get his toy exactly the way he wants it. Jim

2nd gen Colt 1851's. Am I missing something?

I wonder how much the gain twist helped out the originals? I've read where a lot of the old timers liked the .36 and it's "killing power". I don't see how it could be any better than (if as good) the .44's but that's what some thought. jim

    1979 Marlin 1894 (44 mag)

I had one back in the 80's, and shot two deer with it using factory pistol ammo. Core/jacket separation caused me to do some serious trailing to find my venison. I went back to using rifle calibers. It is a fun gun to shoot and play around with, but the lowly 30-30 has a lot more stopping power...

    Using motor oil on guns.

Back in the 80's when I was in the US Army, all we had for lube with rare exception was 10 wt and 30 wt motor oil. Used it on everything from our .45's to the 105MM Main Gun on our tanks. MG's worked well with it too. Every couple of years, we'd get a gallon of real bore cleaner for the...

A magnificent example of why not to use "liberal" as an attack/insult

Do not for one second forget that is was liberals/socialists that started all this biggoted name calling. Obviously, they can dish it out, but can't take it. I have often thought that liberals should be the biggest 2AM supporters, but that is part of their ingrained hypocrisy. The facist left...

    Browning A5 Combat SG?

Thanks gents! I see as usual, there is a lot more to this than first meets the eye. Further investigation is needed. What would be a good alternate choice? Jim

    Browning A5 Combat SG?

Lately, I've been considering finding an older Browning and trimming it down like the Rhodesians did in the 70's. I've seen some around that were definitely working guns and not collector pieces, so I think I can produce a reasonable facsimile. any thoughts on the matter? Jim
