It is your gun of course, but I can't bring myself to do something irreversible to a family gun. I suggest "no". Maybe buy a beater model 12 and modify that.
I have seen the results of surveys that ask about gun ownership. This is probably the best we got. There are many older guns in closets and attics that were obtained before any records were kept.
I don't really trust surveys, but they might be useful for relative comparisons between states. The...
I have always been able to find them, although prices are usually very high. Almost all English guns have 2 1/2 inch chambers, so shells are available. The last few years though have been very trying for ammunition supply of all kinds.
I have shot my citori for almost 20 years without any inertia trigger issue I can recall. But, as you say, with a mechanical trigger you get a second chance. I think Browning has this trigger basically perfected.
Good advice. Nothing good happens late at night in a sketchy neighborhood. The gun is just a piece of your efforts to avoid being a victim, and for most people, not the most important piece.
I have never had a failure of any sort with my M36 S&W 38 special. I do clean it periodically, however. I have maybe 50k+ through my Browning Citori clays gun without any sort of failure aside from a few bad cartridges with low primers. I also clean it. They deserve cleaning I think! Pic of the...
Here she is: an 1870 Wesley Richards pinfire converted to centerfire. 12 bore damascus with 2.5 inch chambers and nitro proof! Sleeping in her original case with tools and various junk.
Boy I HOPE this is true. I really want Remington to be good. I have owned several Remington shotguns, with mixed results. I dream of the day they can make a fine American O/U like the 3200 for say $2K. I would give it a try. I much prefer to shoot American guns, and the decline of so many of our...
Guns can be scaled to the gauge, so you could make very light 28s for example. That makes sense for carrying the gun afield. I handled an English SxS in 410 once that I bet weighed 4 pounds. But for hitting stuff, the 12 is perfect for everything with proper loads except maybe some wildfowling...
Manual of Arms. I am not a former soldier or cop. I think if I have to use a gun for defense, it will be one of the worst days of my life. I may be very nervous and scared. I may have tunnel vision, some loss of coordination, etc. A double action high quality revolver is just draw and aim and...
