M-Pro 7 Bore Gel definitely does remove copper, I have a trash can full of blue/green patches to prove it. I can't say how well it works compared to Sweets, KG12, or what have you. -C

Most (Tac Optics) 3gun shooters run a 20"-24" barrel, mostly for the flush 8-9rd. magazine tube. I don't think that barrel length has anything to do with the gas system on the Remington 1100. Don't quote me on that, tho. -C
