Well, I had $500 limit. I almost doubled it with this little gem. :) Thanks for all the help. I really decided that I need a good long gun. Next is going to be a dillon progressive and a couple of caliber conversions. That will have to be next month though. :)

I guess I should have added, I already have an 870 with hunting and hd barrels along with a mag ext.

I got myself a Ruger Bearcat. It is like new and was only $200. I couldn't pass it up. I thought I did pretty good. Now I just have to wait for my 9 month old son to grow into it. :D

I left the 642 club awhile back ago......Now I'm back. :D

The P-01 has a bit smaller barrel and grip. For me the P-01 was just a bit more ergonomic.....I'm not sure why. As for accuracy, both are more accurate than I am. Both are also very very reliable. However, the P-01 did go through the Nato test and exceeded NATO standards..

I do carry the 1911 during winter now. But, I need a good excuse to buy a new gun. :D I love my 1911. :) clipse

I can't decide which. I want a good winter carry gun (summer carry is a Ruger SP101). I used to own a P-01 and loved it. I only sold it becuase I have a CZ 75B and really wanted a 1911. The XD looks like a good gun too. The only thing that I don't like about the CZ is the price of...

I remember the first time my wife saw me carrying a gun. We were going for a walk through the woods. (pre-CCW) I had a small .22lr revolver that I was loading, she exclaimed,"Your not LOADING it are you?!?!?!" I tried to explain that the revolver was going to scare a rabid racoon just by sight...

I don't know of one off hand that would be better for carry but, I will say, with do replace it, you might replace the disconnecter and sear as well. Those three parts are mated to work together and when you replace one its always a good idea to replace the rest.

The followers came out of 9mm EAA Witness mags. You may be able to get some from EAA. I don't know the part number though. clipse
