I make jewelry (key chains, pull chains and necklaces) from fired cases and I came up with this simple set-up to drill my flash holes.
I drilled holes in a piece of scrap steel and a pair of old vice-grips and attached them using screws and wing-nuts.
I cut a couple pieces of 1/2...
When I shoot my Garand I don't even THINK about picking the brass up right away. That -06 brass gets toasty!
Tim the student: I just bought an AR and I can see how you'd get burned like that. Thank you for your service! Nice name too....

This is my one and only 10/22. I guess you could call it a 10/22 M1 Carbine.
I found the M1 Carbine stock for $15. I had to Dremil out some wood and glass bed the stock so the barrel and receiver would fit.
The only other parts that aren't stock are the Tech-sights and the recoil...
I had some but I just sold most of it to a guy on this forum, Sorry. :banghead:
I'd try the Traders forum either here or over at CMP and see if you get any hits.
Good luck and You'll LOVE that little Carbine!!!!!

I don't load when I'm tired, distracted, frustrated, ect, ect... I learned the hard way.
When I first started my "better half" had a Bad habit of coming over to the bench to talk and stuff. Well, after 2 squibs in one magazine in my M1 Carbine:cuss:, I told her VERY NICELY to NOT bother me...

It's a really cool program! You scan in a target and with the tools in the program you can get figures like Group Size, Standard Dev., M.O.A, ect...
Well, I got a...
I got into reloading when my Dad got a Garand a couple years ago and we had a hard time finding M2 Ball (I didn't know about CMP then) to feed it. When I saw the end of the cheap, surplus -06 on the horizon I figured reloading would be the only way to go.
I now load for 2 Garands, 2 M1...
Rubbing alcohol?
For small batches (20 or so pieces):
I use a rag with a little rubbing alcohol after trimming with a Lee case length gauge in an electric screwdriver. I trim with C.L.G., ream and then hit with rag for a couple turns. Quick and easy.
For large batchs (50-200 pieces)...
I've had great results with AA#9. (Min 11.3 /Max 12.6) Start low and work up.
12.2gr behind 110gr fmj. O.A.L. 1.670-1.675
I've tried H110 and IMR4227 but I keep going back to the #9.

Oh, Yeah, I forgot to add in my O.P. that I originally got into reloading because my Dad and I have a couple M1 Garands and I could see the end of the cheap, surplus M2 Ball on the horizon. I figured reloading was the only way that we'd be able to shoot these battle rifles in the future without...
