Twang just doesn't sound right. My cz457 when it was in the synthetic stock and I ran a suppressor is twangy. Much better now that I swapped it into a laminate stock.

Cheap glass selection will leave you with chromatic aberration. It is the purple fringing you probably have seen in cheaper optics.

I have a .338 WM, thought I might go elk hunting, not going to happen at my age. I have molds to cast bullets for it and I'm a hand loader so making a reduced load is in my reach. I keep hoping my nephew wants to go elk hunting, I'll give him the rifle in advance of my demise.
