    Cabelas Hawkins trigger question

Whoo hoo!! That did the trick! However, I am surprised that that 'fix' made the difference. I tried to tighten the screw that goes through the sear but it was locked down tight, so I took that whole plate off, then spent 10 minutes retrieving the spring and spring cap from under the...

    Cabelas Hawkins trigger question

Whosyrdaddy- while futzing with the lock, what you describe is what I think is happening. I'm a complete novice at this but the fly seems very loose in the mechanism, like it moves out of plane of the mechanism, if that makes sense. I'll follow your instructions and post more picks. Also...

    Cabelas Hawkins trigger question

I'e used/had the rifle for about 4-5 years now and this is the first time it has happened. I'd would guess that I have put only about 30 rounds down range with it too. Id be surprised if wear was the culprit, but I will check. I can try to post some pictures later this evening, assuming that...

    Cabelas Hawkins trigger question

I'm having a little issue with my cabelas Hawkins percussion cap rifle and hope someone out ther can help me out. When I cock the hammer, pull the set trigger, and then pull the 'bang'/front trigger, the hammer comes down to only the 'safety' position (please forgive my lack of the proper...

Winchester AE or Marlin for lefty?

Which is of the two rifles would be better suited for a left hand shooter, and are there any lefties with experience with both/either? At first I thought the win would be better due to the top/angled ejection....but I now think that the angle eject would be more distracting than the side eject...

    Nikon p223 3x32 w bdc vs lucid hd7

I don't mean to hi-jack this thread...but, I've been eyeing up the 3x carbine model as well and I'm wondering if the Nikon p-series (or any other 'off set') rings are necessary for this scope (given its short length)? BTW- I also don't care for the large turent/knobs, but I like the length...

    .357 vs black bear

This topic seems to get a lot of press, anyway: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=365055 About the 11th post in the above thread I posted a link to the field and stream website that shows a park ranger putting down a grizzly bear with a .357 revolver.

    Breakfast at Perkins: Revolver Down!

So your going to breakfast at perkins, and as your walking in you find a holstered pistol laying in the parking lot...since this is the high road, you would more than likely want to return it to its rightful owner (and of course that's what you would want someone to do for you).... how do you...

    Harris left me hanging...

I'm in the market for a bipod and have been doing the research and trying to figure out which is the best option for me. I'm leaning towards the Harris brand but whenever the 'which height' question gets asked on forums the responses seem too vague for me to make a decision (about all I've...

    .357 Magnum rifles?

only two weeks later mainmech48, The finish is cerakote in gun metal grey, the baked on variety. I had liberty coatings apply the finish and couldn't be happier, its holding up nicely. The rifle was a 'kit' so I wasn't too concerned about the collectors value of it.
