Pretty much. Magpuls can be bought like a gas station Butterfinger. Original FN 1900 magazines, not so much. I try to have at least 3 for every semi-auto. HD and CCW pistols at least 4 or 5.
Gotta agree with trackskippy. Nice S&W and Colt revolvers seem to be as expensive as ever. I’ve lucked into a few deals in the last couple of years but it sure doesn’t look like the days of the $600-700 K-frame have passed.
I do on single-actions but not doubles. Unless they’re pre-war. I saw a S&W 1905 .38 Special with a 7.5” barrel at the LGS today that I would have snapped up if I hadn’t been on a gun buying tear recently.
$360 at East County Guns in Centralia, Mark_Mark!
Exactly. I bought my 442 after giving up my search for a decent, affordable, 49.
Yes a 442 may make more sense than a 49, but it doesn’t have a tenth of the character.
This is the looker of my .380’s but there’s an RM380 in my pocket when there isn’t a Nano and a S&W EZ in the safe waiting for my infirm old age.
Oops, I forgot about the Beretta 70S. So maybe the Walther isn’t the looker….
You didn’t overpay. Certainly not given the condition.
The other day I was looking at an old THR thread where the member paid $825 for a minty non-import marked East German Mak. It was exactly what he wanted but, unsurprisingly, some people gave him grief for paying so much. It made me laugh...
I've had both. There's nothing wrong with the Mini, but the AR is more gun where you want it to be, in less gun where you want it to be. If that makes any sense.
Funny how prices vary so much by region. Every one of the guns the OP mentions would cost, at least, twice as much here. Even at a fair-minded gun shop.
Funny. I also thought the thread title was a reference to Mark_Mark. Like you accidentally bought a pristine .32-20 Hand Ejector when you stopped at a corner store to grab a Diet Pepsi or something…
Lever-actions need the stability of a butt stock more than most rifles because of the forward motion of the lever. For HD it’s hard to see what this gun brings to the party. I’d rather have a reliable .380 or a 10/22.
It does look cool though
