Looks like Open Carry will finally be passed in TX

Calaverasslim stated: "Will I open carry? Seriously doubt it. Depends of the time of day or night, where I am and what I am doing. 3PM going to HEB, no. Driving to El Paso and stopping for gas in Ft. Stockton or Van Horn at 3AM, yes." Well put, sir. I feel precisely the same! :D Corner Pocket

    Not going into battery surprise...

Looks like my Beretta 8045 just doesn't like those Lee Cast TL 200 gr bullets. My test loads of another 200 gr Cast bullet all worked just fine at the range earlier this morning. Thus, the problem is solved -- I'll just switch to these bullets that work, and enjoy them. :D Thanks again for...

    Not going into battery surprise...

Gents, I really appreciate these replies. I've dug around out there and found a few hundred pieces of 200 gr bullets that have a different ogive than the ones that have been problematic. I'll load up a few test rounds and give 'em a shot. Thanks again! :D Corner Pocket

    Not going into battery surprise...

Many thanks for these replies! rsrocket1, you asked, "Do you seat them with any of the shoulder sticking out of the case? If so, did you size the bullets or simply TL then load them?" I don't size them. However, I like your idea of seating a little deeper. (I'll back off the powder charge a...

    Not going into battery surprise...

Folks, I'm loving my new Beretta Cougar .45 pistola and it happily gobbles up my 230 gr Cast TL loads. They shoot with very nice accuracy. I'm really pleased with that load and will continue to crank out a bunch of them... I've also put together some 200 gr Cast TL loads. These have an OAL of...

Something of a .44 Special mystery...

Many thanks! Gents, I really appreciate your replies! :D Chuck Perry, these 720 Rossi guns don't have that strain screw that you mentioned. Indeed that sounds like the easiest way to fix the issue, but... I bought some Rossi 720 parts on eBay not long ago. Among them is a mainspring. I...

Something of a .44 Special mystery...

Back around the beginning of this year, I purchased a lightly-used stainless 3" Rossi (model 720) revolver, chambered in .44 Special. I fell in love with it from day one! Actually, I enjoyed it so much that I bought a second nice 720 a couple months later. These things are really sweet and I...

    .40sw 155gr LSWC w/ HS-6 data???

I don't have the Lyman data here. But I've enjoyed loading a lot of these bullets when using 5.4 grains of HP-38/231. These work really well in each of my .40 guns. Clear sights and straight shootin' to ya! Corner Pocket

Something that's both delicious, and useful!

Thanks, gents! I appreciate the replies, and I realize that there are a ton of different means of storing various types of reloading components. Those that I mentioned work well for me, and the bonus for me is that I will never grow weary of eating those fantastic wasabi-flavored, salted...

Something that's both delicious, and useful!

I just now opened up a fresh can, and that reminded me of something that I have thought about posting on here for a while -- On the potato chip aisle at Walmart, they have these tins of "Blue Diamond" salted almonds, with wasabi & soy sauce. They are incredibly delicious! Just eating them...

    40 S&W Loads with Rainier 165gr Bullets

I shoot a lot of cast bullets in my CZ 75B .40. However, I really like loading Berry's plated (155 gr) when powered with 8.0 gr of HS-6. (This may be the most accurate of the .40 S&W loads that I've put together.) :D Corner Pocket
