    Machine Gun in Kentucky

Awesome advice THR. With your alls help, I got my friend moving in the right direction. And I've learned a few things myself. I like being the designated "gun guru" of my small group of friends, but I will be the first to admit, I don't know everything. Usually, if I am looking for answers to...

    Machine Gun in Kentucky

Ok, so I asked him about some of the things you all have mentioned. He is the executor of his fathers will, and it does state that the property and everything on it now belongs to him, to include the firearm. I looked up the tax form 5, and from what I can gather, that is to transfer the weapon...

    Machine Gun in Kentucky

Hey THR, haven't posted or asked questions in a while. And this is more of a question for those who live in Kentucky. I had a friend of mine come to me, his father just passed away, and he inherited all of his father's firearms. Along with a full-auto MAC-10. I am the gun guru in our group...

    Hogs with 30-06

I have hunted hogs before, just been about 5 years since I have. I was stationed at Fort Hood Texas with the US Army, and being as I was hunting on a military post, I was only allowed to use shotgun or muzzle loaders. So for a few years, I hunted hogs strictly with muzzle loader using 250 gr...

Thank you all for the suggestions, looking around online at ammo now, but please, if anyone has tried the Animal Instinct, please comment and let me know what you think. Guess I will be looking for, from what I have gathered from the thread, 180 gr rounds, going to pay attention to the Barnes...

    Gun not taking cold bluing.....

It looks like it has done a really good job, I like the color on that too, it's about the color I am looking for on this rifle I am working on. So far, everyone is saying oxpho-blue, I'm just wondering if anyone has used the others mentioned. If not, I think I might try the oxpho-blue and see...

    Gun not taking cold bluing.....

Well, the firearm that I am experimenting with is an old Western Auto 100A, so cold bluing will be fine, it's a cheap rifle I'm going to be using to teach my kids how to shoot. I live in Kentucky, but right now with it being cold outside, the humidity level is actually really low, so the damp...

    Gun not taking cold bluing.....

First, thank you everyone for all your comments and suggestions, I think I got a better idea of how I am going to tackle this project. Again, thank you everyone.... I have been doing some research, and I couldn't believe all the products out there for bluing (again, I am brand new to this, so...

    Gun not taking cold bluing.....

Wow, I had not thought of that. Come to think of it when I did the muzzle loader barrel I had mentioned, I had done it during the summer, this is the first time trying to do it in the winter. Thank you for that piece of information, while I'm doing my research I'll look into that as well.

    Gun not taking cold bluing.....

Is this to heat the metal before using Super Blue? If that's the case couldn't I just put it in the oven at a low heat? I'm still kinda new to bluing and firearm refurbishing (for lack of better terms), so I am still larning

    Gun not taking cold bluing.....

Yes, when I'm bluing the metal I'm doing it in the garage, and it being close to the winter the only heat I have is coming from a small space heater that I have so I don't freeze to death, but yes, the metal is cold. All I am using is Birchwood Casies Super Blue. Did the same thing with this...
