I obeyed the White House request today

The only gun talk discussed at the Turkey table was my BIL busting my chops over buying a rifle chambered in .243win. You see, he hunts 120lb deer with a 338winmag and figures I'll lose every deer I shoot with a .243win because of its hyper velocity with a tiny bullet.

Coated bullets safe in Glock barrels?

I run Falcon Bullet Company's Falcoated as well as cast and powder coat my own. I also shoot most of them out of factory glock barrels. They work fantastic. Those Falcoated are real nice though. I've actually been able to reduce charges by as much as 20% in some cases and still achieve the same...

    40 S & W loads with MBC hard cast

4.0gn of that HP-38 you got there under a 180gr Falcon Bullet Company cast bullet is what I use. Soft shooting load it is.

How does the 357 158g XTP perform at 1000-1100 FPS?

I use a lot of XTP and during my redneck expansion test (5gal bucket full of clay and a stack of wet phone books) I've ran them as slow as 800fps and still got excellent expansion.

357 mag hunting load suggestion needed

My preferred hunting bullet is a gas checked and powder coated 158gr LSWC. I load it with a healthy dose of Alliant's 300-mp powder for an average velocity of 1520fps out of a gp100. Deer flat die when smacked with that chunk of lead.

    223 with 75gr Hornady HPBT

I'm averaging 2541fps with the Hornady 68gr BTHP and 24.0gn of H335 out of 14.5" colt 1/7 barrel. You're results seem on par for the course.

Gelatin test: 10mm Double Tap 165 gr Golden Saber and 195 gr Mihec cast hand load

I'm a 10mm fanboy, ain't gonna lie. Love these kinds of vids. The XTP has been my favorite .400dia bullet thus far. I've done extensive redneck expansion/penetration testing with the bullet and have found it to be exceptional. I'm particularly fond of the 200gr version. I've ran it as slow as...

BUIS on a short sight base?

Just buy a Savage Hog Hunter. It comes with factory irons not to mention the tacticool short threaded bull barrel and DBM.

    44 mag lever guns

I bought the Rossi for my pops a couple years ago. It's been a very good gun so far. It may be the cheapest option dollar wise but it's not lacking in quality.

why oh why in the world????

I'm betting its for handling all that nasty trigger slap those Russian rifles are known for :p

    Savage Hog Hunter vs...

The Remington ACC is a Hog Hunter wannabe :neener: .

    Which gun companies might move?

Yup, Remington is moving to Huntsville and bringing many of it's subsidiary companies with. Creedmoor Sports (as in 6.5creedmoor) has also moved to Alabama. With the gun manufacturers that have already came to AL, the ones that have started in AL (2 Vets Arms, Red Dot Arms, Meredith Rifles etc)...

    Meredith Rifles ?

So who has a Meredith Rifle? I've ran across a couple guys at the range that have had these insanely well machined rifles that were shooting lights out and one of them was even using factory ammo. I'd expect as much from a custom build but when they told me what they paid for them I was shocked...

Did you ever want a scout scope on your Win '94?

That's eerily similar to a mount I had made for my old 94. Had a Simmons pistol scope on it for years. I kicked myself for letting the mount go with the rifle when I sold it. I feel better now that there's something like it commercially available for my next 94.

    Long Range Shooting Caliber Choice

Just go buy a Savage LRP (Long Range Precision) in 6.5creedmoor and a few boxes of Hornady's Superformance ammo for it. It'll shoot lights out right out the gate. Then you now have fire formed brass and Hornady prints their data right on the box so you can duplicate the load for half the cost...
