Update: Cleaned the bore with a brass wire brush and a drill, took the stock off and cleaned everything really well, shoots like a dream. :)
Thanks for all your help.
Well, I finally got up to my dad's place and picked up the rifle. I took the buttstock off and cleaned everything the best I could and also cleaned up the chamber. I went to buy some ammo at Wal-Mart for it and was disappointed to find it at $30 for a box of 20.
Anyone know of a good website...
I have a 300 Savage lever action that won't eject brass. It seems like the brass must be expanding in the chamber when it's fired. The ejector hook thingie (technical term, I know  ) seems fine.
I actually need a ramrod to get the brass out. Everything else works fine. I've tried...
It definitely starts to feel better the more you do it.
Also, most of us have a drawer full of holsters we tried and didn't like, so don't feel bad if you go through a few before settling on one.
I've found mine feeds the Wal-Mart Federal bulk ammo just fine, but will not fully eject the other bulk ammo. I guess the other stuff doesn't have as much oomph to it, so it doesn't cycle the bolt correctly. The federal stuff make for good cheap skeet ammo.
Boy, I shouldv'e updated this thread.
I ended up trading a P89 I never used for a well used but good condition 150-series Ruger Security Six. It's a 4" model with Pach grips, and it's a blast to shoot. :D
Did the Curio and Relic requirements just change?
I'm hoping you can help me here because Google is just confusing me (either that or I'm doing it myself...)
I ordered the C&R license application form sometime last year but never actually got around to filling it out and sending it in...
Maybe they are still nervous enough about guns that they don't trust themselves to carry. It takes some people a LONG time to get over that, if they ever do. Doesn't necessarily mean you shouldn't be friends with them.
